Just a little time ago, I was asked to turn a Maggot Lord mount into a Great Unclean one. The conversion was pretty straight-forward: basically it meant removing the rider/saddle and replacing that section with green stuff (and a little spike that would otherwise have been left on the sprue).

I was a little surprised with how easily he fit onto a 60mm base. Of course, the greater daemons will probably all be moved onto the oval bases now, so you really just can't win.

Not sure why the base would remotely matter.

It is a nice use of the model, though.

I like it. My freind is thinking of coverting the glottkin into Kugath the plaugefather.

Nicely painted, I think the model looks really silly though.

happy wargaming,

Some people like to keep up on what the current base sizes are- local attitudes vary quite a bit about whether people should use the current base sizes or not. This is only more important when we're working with converted minis (since they didn't come with the base that the mini is supposed to have).

This also has gotten to be a bigger deal since other miniatures companies's rules sets have emphasized base size as part of the character's stats (Warmachine/Hordes, Malifaux, Relic Knights, Dark Age, Wrath of Kings and more). The actual importance of base size varies between those games too.

For the most part in 40k, the base size isn't super important.

Good work with the conversion.
The paint job is very nice, but a little bit clean, considering
Fun to see you do a larger, plastic GW model!

Really well done! I feel like the black outline around the bone parts is too strong and gives it a slightly cartoonish vibe but other than that I can't fault the paint job :-D

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)
