They're cool!

They have a lot of strengths since they can take both Daemon and Marine models, and pick the best ones. They also don't have Daemonic Instability, so you can join CSM characters in Daemon units and so on, which opens up to a lot of cool combos.

The Blood Tithe point system is also very cool, as it rewards MSU builds and not being afraid of getting your guys killed, which is both very fluffy and can give your army a lot of powerful buffs.

I would rank them as considerably more powerful than Chaos Space Marines, but not quite as powerful as regular Daemons (but I would love to be proven wrong on that last part). They're also great allies for my Renegades & Heretics

There have been a couple of threads about this, but it breaks down to this.

If you are intent on playing a mono-Khorne force, Khorne Daemonkin is the way to do it.

Khorne lists lack access to summoning, a major strength of Codex Chaos Daemons, and Codex Khorne Daemonkin gives your Khorne fources a summoning mechanic for "free", fueld by the bloodshed.

Also, since it has a decurion style formation system, you can spam up to 8 of the heavy war engine choices, which is pretty cool.

I find it best not to make any long-term choices. I began with Tyranids, not even considering that I could expand into another army. Now I have Eldar, Tau, Tyranids and Chaos Marines, plus an assortment of other models that I got simply because I like them. Think about what you want right now. In time, you'll probably end up with both.

Play what appeals to you most.

Necrons however are easier to paint and play, having a top tier codex.

Khorne Daemonkin offer a greater variety in models, units, and customising possibilities, but have a mid tier codex.

I can recommend them, so far, they are a great deal of fun to play against, you get some cool, if not optimal units, and overall it's a fun army.

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

I've received Khorne Daemonkin off a friend a few days ago (so not put as much into it compared to other dexes yet). When list building, I've found myself missing Deamon weapons big time. I've also found the fact that you are forced to pay for MoK on everything (I know - it's the point, but 58pt cultists for 2 less - come on) and have to take possessed if you wan't the 'decurion', are big taxes. A lot of things went up in price too, ie Maulerfiend by 5pts, defiler by 5 pts etc. Struggling to come up with lists as strong as I can with CSM so far really.

Yeah aside from the tithe (and even that could have been done better) a lot of poor decisions went into DK.

For example, if your forced to take MoK on everything, it should be cheaper, if not free due to giving up the other choices. And a tithe result that is always half useless (Rage + Furious Charge) shouldn't be a thing. And there shouldn't be one obvious auto-take (FNP) on the tithe chart. And you shouldn't lose all tithe points for any purchase. And the Slaughter Cult is way feeble compared to the insanity of the Necron one. And...

What we did get at least was *something* for taking mono-Khorne. Khorne's always been, by far, the worst daemons to mono, not that monoing any of them has ever really been a good idea. Tithe certainly beats the pants out of nothing I gotta say

I think DK has enough strengths to stand out. It's not all round good like eldar or crons , but in terms of savagery it can do good to things .

Standout unit is the flesh hounds, fearless , scout, can be joined by characters and can get fnp. Very solid.

I would still ally with another chaos faction to get the most out of it.

WOuld have been perfect if the Khorne's Axes wer'nt 30pts and if the Heralds had acces to more options.

A special Char or two would have been nice.

A formation for maulerfiends/defilers sont that they get either a reroll to hit thing, or a +1 BS and WS.

New options for Rhinos, like open topped.

New Deamon Weapons, or simply the Axe of Blind Fury, even though you can pull some nasty one with the Goredrinker+Axe of khorne combo, buts its pricy.

Some kind of buff for Bloodcrushers, i mean come on...T4 and armor 6+?...really?...

Clearer or different rules about FMC summoned with blood tithe...

I also feel that they missed the opportunity for Zerkers on Juggers or Zerkers mounted on Maulerfiends...
