Hello ,I'm a miniature sculptor ,over the last year I've been sculpting many Rogue Ttrader (40k 1st/2nd edition) inspired miniatures,
trying to giving them the cool look from the 80's and early 90's.

I'm runing a kickstarter campaign to release them all , the campaign was funded in just 2 days!

They will be cast in metal.

I will put a selection of pics here ,so if anyone is interested they can be purchased here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/35352648/space-riders
Please take a look ad thanks for watching

I'm liking your models so far, but has anyone let you know how eerily similar your "Mad Machine Dork" looks like a relatively obscure comic character "Mean Machine Angel"?

I would hate for you to get tripped up on a thing like that

Some really lovely sculpting work, there.

The Orcs in particular really capture that old-school vibe with modern-looking detailing.

When it becomes cool to wear underwear of any of the Angel Gang on them I will say they have made it to the big time. Hell, if they are ever shown in a movie not starring Sylvester Stallone I would consider it.

So I'm guessing you've never touched one of the 2000AD comics then, where Mean Machine has popped up in quite a bit..?

In the effort to stop and further side tracking of what should be discussion about awesome minotaurs with powerfists.

1) I obviously know who Mean Machine Angel is or else I wouldn't have mentioned him in the first post, especially saying that the sculpt looked "eerily like" him, perhaps implying that it was cutting it too close (but hey, it worked for Zombicide)

2) Compared to anything from Marvel and DC, yes he is relatively obscure. And this is from someone who loves him some 2000AD and has read almost every single issue.

Back on track - Congrats on the 4.1k milestone. Looks like there is more than enough RT love to have this fund with plenty of room.

Wow, these are fantastic !

Think the sculptor has got the 80's style just right, really brought back some memories looking at these.

Would probably say the Minotaur bounty hunters are my favourites (as well as the 'not Mean Machine' of course!)

Thanks a lot guys!
And yes I know Mean Machine , but if I'm not wrong he doesn't have 2 arms in the comics , so basically I'm introducing a human guy a with a cyber arm , I think 1 arm count difference is a big enough difference don't you think?

I have a love for the older style, always so fun to paint.

I put a small pledge in as I have always wanted a 'Crawling Insectoid' and 'The really big guy' just screams DOOM cyber daemon.

Great stuff!

Any chance of another view of the Reptile Centaur? It's a little hard to tell what everything is from this one angle but it looks really cool!

Also, can it be chosen as the "Big Monster" for the basic pledge level?

Yes it can be taken by the "big monster" pledge too.
Cant show you any other pics because it's still in progress , and many other parts still undone , sorry. But trust your instinct on this one

Just thought I would bring this thread back up to the top to mention that pledges have started to ship, and that mine arrived today. I pledged for the "Crawling Insectoid" and "The really BIG guy".

Pics:

They are both on the same 40mm base so you can get an idea of the size of them.

(Sorry if I shouldn't have bumped the thread, but I thought it would be the best place to mention that fulfilment has started).

Agreed, I missed this back in May. Is there a plan to release these for retail sale?

I love this idea even if none of the really cry out to me.

But more grimdark humans/civilians/gangs/adventurers and I'd be all over them.

Hello guys , Thanks for those pics of yours buddy!!

If someone wants to order , just contact me here via PM , anyway I need to finish to fullfill the KS orders yet , and then depending on the stock I can send some spares out there before having to
build new molds.

I hope you get fullfilment completed before you get your C&D letter!

These models look great and I would have been sorely tempted if I'd known about the KS.

Well, if GW feel like you're treading on their toes, with things like this:

There's fair use, and then there is this....

I have a sneaky suspicion that those who made this have read the chapterhouse court files and found that most of the old stuff is not owned by GW.
