Hey guys! CrashGordon94 here, I'm a University student from England, recently was introduced to Warhammer 40k by my support worker and so decided to join this site (and another, but that's not important) to discuss that more fully.

Regarding that, I'm a Dark Angels player (Well, really Angels of Vengeance mostly with some vanilla Dangles mixed in, not a fan of the standard-issue green armor, really doesn't suit them), currently in the process of building and painting my army.

If anyone has anything they want to ask, go right ahead!

Question of my own: I know insulting other users is banned (for good reason), but is insulting fictional characters okay? Just want to make sure before I get in trouble for something easily preventable.

And you can indeed insult fictional characters, as long as it's in good fun, and doesn't delve into actual hate speech (gender, race, sexuality, etc).
e.g. Saying Fulgrim has ridiculous hair would be fine, but saying he's terrible due to being a fan of musical theatre, very much not.

Well, it was mostly said support worker telling me about it, eventually I got interested and started looking into it more. After my financial situation got better I got the Dark Vengeance starter and stuff. Been getting increasingly interested in 40k, surprising when I look back and remember that all I ever knew about it was Space Marines and "HERESY!".

And great, good to know. Would've been a bit draconian otherwise. And suspected that was the case anyway, having seen a thread here where a lot of people had some pretty ripe things to say about the Ultramarines. Honestly, I know to not tie it into legit hate speech or insult the fans of whatever I talk about so I suppose all should be fine.

Funny you say that, many of the ones I'd be likely to have strongly negative things to say about are also Imperial factions too.
