I just recently purchased a large CoC army as my first Warmachine faction. I know they have a steep learning curve as a first faction and aren't scheduled for new releases. Im not so worried about the future for CoC as i am the now. Are Convergence a good faction right now? How are they doing in the competitive scene? What im really asking is the factions performance worth the learning curve? Thanks!
They're pretty good. Just a bit limited in choices at the moment. They're very effective at running multiple jacks (Vectors).
The learning curve comes from the induction where in the first time a vector (jack) spends a focus point, rather than floating off into the aether, it gets passed down to another vector. And how each caster has a Field Marshall ability that gives an ability to all their jacks. Iron Mother gives out arc node, Axis gives counter charge.
Each vector can RECEIVE up to their limit (normally 3) but can only ever SEND one. So turn one you can run ever vector in your army by only assigning out 1 focus, passing it around, and camping the rest to toss out upkeep spells.
Counter Slam has a good overview of them you should watch.
Also Battle College is a good place to learn a bit. But be wary of the tactics sections. While the model overview is good some of the tactics range from great to bad to flat out "That doesn't work because the rule doesn't work that way"

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.
They're a weird faction for a new player due to the different interactions their stuff does giving you more things to learn than others. Definite things to make sure you pick up are the Enigma Foundry for its sickening recursion, and their Battle Engine for its sickening damage output.

And corollary.
Also, check out my history blog: Minimum Wage Historian, a fun place to check out history that often falls between the couch cushions.
The lot im picking up actually has everything but the TEP. Is the TEP really a key pickup? I really love the model and want to play it. Is it played in alot of lists?

You will want it eventually. But its not necessary. Convergence players did without for long time.

And complained the whole time. I mean, nothing is Required, but the TEP is exceptionally good.
Its not like its the Corollary or anything, but yeah its really good.

Yea i have a corollary and it seems to make the army. I definitely will pick up a TEP though i loved the model so im extremely happy its rules are good. Any idea on what infantry i should invest in?

Obstructors are a good place to start, along with taking an Enigma Foundry. They're the basic CoC infantry unit. The Enigma Foundry keeps bringing them back.

They are a hard army to play with a steep learning curve. They are also one of the biggest skew armies- as in they either win big, or lose huge. There isn't much in between for them. You either know you are going to win or lose practically from the start of the game. There is no fighting through it or making a comeback. You could say that about a lot of factions in Warmachine, but Convergence is the most polarized of those factions.
They can be fun, though a bit complicated. Good luck! Have fun!

Awesome i have an obstructor unit and an enigma foundry so ill try them out together. Anyone know anything about Eradicators? They are the only things i dont have. Worth the investment?

They're better at killing loads of infantry than Reciprocators, but Convergence has better units that do that more efficiently. Eradicators are sort of a compromise between defense and offense, and most compromises leave it being not as good as one or the other.
I would pick up Perforators before I got Eradicators.

The small based shield unit with the smalled based spray unit backing them up are mean, especially when backed up by the Foundry. The medium based shield unit and the medium based buckler/sidestep unit are also both good choices. (You can tell how good I am at CoC names).
Yea i feel like the names themselves are part of the dreaded learning curve haha. I was told by someone that i should invest in 2 more Enigma Foundries if i want to run Axis, I definitely plan on trying him our but is 3 Foundries overkill? Or more accuratley over-rez?

Not really. One of the main ways to counter Enigma Foundries is to overload them with souls. Once they're full the excess souls are lost so you can't bring them back. Having a 3rd Foundry(assuming you are running his tier which lets you have more than 2) can make it that much harder to get ahead on the Attrition.

I wouldn't. One will be sufficient for someone who is just starting out. Only get a second unit if you have a specific need for one.
