Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

One of my armies is Blood Angels and I am wondering if it is plausible to create a list which can be classified as competitive for this points cost. I have never had much luck with it myself and so I'm wondering what your thoughts are?

HQ:
Sanguinary Priest with Power Weapon - 75 points.

Troops:
Cassor the Damned - 140 points

Tactical Squad with Combi-Flamer and Flamer - 85 points.

Elites:
Death Company Squad with a Power Weapon in a Drop Pod with Death Wind - 165 points

Fast Attack:
Assault Squad with two Meltas and Combi-Melta in a Drop Pod with Death Wind - 130 points

Total 595 points.

Priest runs with the DC giving them FnP.

Tac Squad grabs objectives and flames anyone that draws near.

Cassor is Cassor.

Assault squad looks after armour (which you shouldn't see too much of at this point level)

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Death company have fnp already. They don't need a priest. And Cassor should not be walking. Neither should a flamer tac squad.

Drop pods of special weapons are always a competitive choice in any marine book. So if you just throw down some heavy flamer tac squads and double melta asm squads with combi- or dual-pistol sarges in pods, you should do pretty well in comparison to most BA lists. As you get to lower and lower point matches, the dice in-game start to become more and more important, so I probably wouldn't stress too much over list building. Drop pods, or a bunch of rhino chassis full of men and call it a list.

Yeah that's true the dreadnought should have a transport. And the tac squad too considring it has flamers. Or kit the tac squad for range and give them Plasma?

If you are using Cassor, you might as well use the Flesh Tearer's Strike Force Detachment. Giving him a FA Drop Pod meets both your FA and Troops requirements. From there you can go basically any direction. I would recommend Death Company paired with a Librarian since they are stupid hard to deal with, but you could also go Sanguinary Guard paired with a Sanguinary Priest. Either way, the downfall of this is that you null deploy, which does have a risk of losing. I suppose you could actually start out on the board and jump forward, but then you will just get gunned down. It is a trade-off.
