So, am I getting this right:
I have, say, 10 orders in a pool, and I spend one to move-move the linked team, then I do it again and again - so I can spend 10 orders on that and link team will move 20 times in a turn? Or am I mistaken and don't understand something?

If each of your short skills for those 10 orders were to move then yes, you could conceivably move the link 20 times.

You can move a lot quickly with link teams but its cumbersome and can be difficult to avoid all unwanted AROs. Usually you only want to expose your spearhead to available AROs so you can at least have a face to face. If you expose everyone they may just shoot another model that's not the spearhad and so get a normal roll. Hence likely kill. Sure it won't immediately break the link (unless it drops the size below 3), but it will weaken it.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

If you like losing and getting shot to hell, yes you can.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

Thanks for clarification, I was just thinking of a 5 men crossing the entire game board twice in just a turn - "On the double!" in its finest/dumbest.

Despite their order efficiency being effective, I think you'll move link teams less than you'd expect. Its also relative to link size. Three still has a good degree of mobility, five, not so much.

I've found it's definitely useful if your force relies on moving forward quickly to get into a closer range band. Yu Jing Japanese Sectoral for example. I quite often use a Kaplan Tactical Services unit with link orders; It's good for objective ITS missions, a lot of them require a specialist (engineer/doctor) etc. and it's an order efficient way of getting several onto the objective.

Although, with the new combined order move (through spending a command token) which is usable by all forces, the bulk unit move of link teams isn't quite the advantage it was under 2nd edition.
