I just bought the following, in various states of maintenance and completion, and am wondering if I can build a viable army out of what I have.

1 Landraider
1 Rhino/Predator
2 Landspeeders
2 Drop Pods
1 Stormtalon

91 Marines
5 Jump Infantry
5 Scouts
40 Terminators
5 Knights
3 Attack Bikes
24 Bikes

I have the bits to convert any characters I could need and pretty much any combination of weapons can be made with the bits I have. I'm willing to make purchases bolster the list, but I'd like to work out what I can do with what I have for now. I'm not looking to win any tournaments, but I'd like to show up and not expect to lose games against semi-competative lists.

Dark angels are about to get a new codex, but as far as I can tell you have a solid base to work with.

I would recommend getting a land raider crusader bits kit and making your raider one of those for various reasons.

Aside from that honestly need to see the new dex to see what would be worth adding / changing

I can easily make a crusader with the bits I have and it's exactly what I was planning to run my land raider as. As a for fun list before the new codex drops I've been toying with.

Army List – 1,500 Points

Headquarters
Belial – Pages 56, 92 – 190 points

Inerrogator-Chaplain
+Conversion Field, Mace of Redemption, Terminator Armor, Melta Bombs

Troops
Deathwing Terminator Squad
+Assault Cannon

Deathwing Terminator Squad
+Assault Cannon

Elites
Deathwing Knights

Heavy Support
Land Raider Crusader

Devastator Squad
+Missile Launcher with Flakk Missiles x3

I add in an extra squad of Terminators with assault cannons and give the chaplain a combi-flamer to go up to 1,750.

Why would you spend points on the conversion field for the Interrogator-Chaplain when he already has a Rosarius? I'd definitely replace an Assault Cannon with Cyclone, maybe even both. You have practically zero anti-armor so Chainfists are a must. Get rid of the Devastators and get an Aegis Defence Line with a Quad Gun if you want some AA.

And before you make any actual purchases, wait for the new codex.

I tossed on the conversion field because I haven't played in ages and didn't check his profile that closely. Yeah, anti-armor did seem to be an issue in a test game I played, the Knights are good for one vehicle per game, but they seem better used against other targets. I'm probably to used to assault cannons chewing up vehicles better than they do in 7th ed, not getting to be AP2 on rend really hurts them. A cyclone is easy enough to swap in when I drop the points for the conversion field, I can probably cut the melta bombs as well to spread the anti-tank out a bit more between squads.

I don't have a defense line at the moment and won't bother grabbing one before the new codex drops so the flak missiles are pretty much just a stop gap until I know what's coming.

If it changes anything I actually have 4 Rhinos and 2 Landraiders once I pop the spikey bits off the chaos stuff I have.

With the new codex coming in two weeks ish it's best to just wait and see what gw has in store for us. If their doing a lot of copy pasting from the marine codex things could get very interesting very quickly. And we could see a lot of cool applications to this act of laziness on their part.

DA army: 3500pts,
admech army: 600pts
ravenguard: 565 pts

Yeah, I probably won't get my models on the table before that happens anyway and I know how much things tend to change from codex to codex.
