I intend to build a Sisters of Battle but I want to see them get plastics so badly. They are the most grim dark gothic Imperial army especially from a model stand point. Even taking all the other models
GW and
FW has made the only other ones that I think approach conveying that character and atmosphere if the setting are the Voyostroyan. Even though I won't build an army of Sisters, I'm gonna buy a box or two just for a handful of minis and to show support in the hopes that
GW recognizes that despite their lack of interest and conviction that there is a strong community interest in seeing strong female characters.

That's not true at all. Forgeworld is pretty well overwhelmed by 30k. The volume of basic marines they're moving is much better suited to plastic. This would allow them to either lower the price on the basic units (helping to expand the 30k playerbase) and let Forgeworld focus on lower production quantities of high priced items, which is their niche, OR let them sell plastic versions of the basic marine kits for the same price they're selling them now at an even higher profit margin (and you know which of those options they'll choose). Either way it's more money for
GW, not less.
FW has said they're trying to get out all the legion upgrade kits before the end of the year so that every legion is represented in some way... but I think its because of the shift to plastic. People recognize there is a degree of silliness in buying expensive resin miniatures only to toss half the bits to make use of Legion specific upgrades... If the rumors of plastics are true I think we're seeing a realignment getting
FW back to selling more supplemental upgrade kits like the Cult Marine ones
FW sold for years which upraded the chaos plastics where
FW and their Heresy era efforts go to supporting
40k.
People have kinda forgotten half the rumor as far as plastic for Horus Heresy... while they've been described as such and while that's their primary purpose the other half of the rumor is a
GW released boxed game that's setting effectively bridges the two eras... because lets be honest
GW probably doesn't like to be outdone by
FW and wants to do something that refocuses our attention to their "main" product.
