Already 2015 is a banner year for 40k just from the Adeptus Mech launch and harli Codex, but rumors from the start of this year promised so much more.

Anyone still think we'll get Death Watch, Plastic Horus Heresy, Genestealer Cults or Sisters of Battle this year?

With 9th ed Fantasy due next month it seems the rest of the year will belong to swords and bows, with 40k maybe getting another codex re-release with a kit or two.

Anyone still think we might get more?

I'd gamble on Death Watch.

It's Space Marines. It's not as complex as one of the exclusive 'Founding' chapters. With seeing how GW released the AdMech in two slimmer books, such may be the new fashion.

I would dare to speculate the big three: DA, SW, and BA ...could be done in a similar slimmer style and reference the C:SM where needed. Oh wait, that's like 3rd edition with needing two codexes to play your space marines?!

GW wouldn't do that...?

Hmm, the new AdMech books state, Codex Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii and Codex Adeptus Mechanicus Cult Mechanicus...

The new Space Marine codex is... Codex Adeptus Astartes Space Marines...

...so slimmer book for Codex Adeptus Astartes Deathwatch is possible. And... Codex Adeptus Astartes Dark Angels, Codex Adeptus Astartes Space Wolves, Codex Adeptus Astartes Blood Angels...

...GW? Nah, they wouldn't... nah...

I'm praying for Sisters of Battle to come in plastic. A 10 woman box of sisters for $40 would be incentive enough for me to start them beyond the allied force I'm planning.

I think a Codex Deathwatch would be pretty easy at this point. The little chapter add-on sprues being done now are the size of what deathwatch need to supplement any number of Marine kits. There are a good number of units they could come up with but in the end if they were lazy they could just make a codex built around modified Sternguard, Vanguard, and maybe command squad.

DW and genestealer cultists seem feasible as single week releases so to me they seem more plausible. Horus Heresy and SoB require more extensive releases making them a bigger deal. I don't know when GW would do those.

Ah latest SM rumors also point to Black Templars getting their book back

Because we need more Marine books

Or at least GW needs to sell more Marine books

Anyway add them to the list.

Yeah though Death Watch would be super easy to do, GW can do them with one of the booster sprues they just put out and a book an intern slaps together over the weekend.

Poor HBMC is going to be p***ed if they do.

Yes, i think we'll see a lot coming this year. GW's yearly report is coming soon, and it won't be all sunshine and rainbows, so they'll need to continue the constant releases to keep making money, and they can also note that in the report as something like "our improved release cycle has seen great returns, so we'll continue with this practice into the next fiscal year."

To be fair, the initial Harry/Hastings rumours did say a good deal might spill over into 2016. And I think they also mentioned that once of the Big Release Days was in September, so if Fantasy is next month and gets the starter at launch, then that still leaves something big for Q3/4.

I certainly wouldn't rule out new armies at all. Just from the volume I've seen online, AdMech in particular has sold like hotcakes, so even the idiots at GW are going to notice that new books= Money.

GW hates money, so no, none of that stuff is coming out.

I hope the sisters get a proper codex and plastic models.

I have a unit of Deathwatch that I use as sternguard. I'm not sure what a Deathwatch codex would be, though. Space Marines +1 with a sprinkle of Inquisition?

Plastic HH? I never believed that one.

Plastic HH is nonsense. That would be GW robbing itself of money.
Plastic Sisters? Doesn't that rumour come up every month? Maybe this time it is true, most likely not.
Deathwatch are just common Space Marines in service to the Inquisition, so I highly doubt we will see a codex or kit for them. A supplement and shoulder pads would be enough.
I hope they are going to do Genestealer Cults, but at the same time I highly doubt they will release 2 entirely new armies in a single year.

That's not true at all. Forgeworld is pretty well overwhelmed by 30k. The volume of basic marines they're moving is much better suited to plastic. This would allow them to either lower the price on the basic units (helping to expand the 30k playerbase) and let Forgeworld focus on lower production quantities of high priced items, which is their niche, OR let them sell plastic versions of the basic marine kits for the same price they're selling them now at an even higher profit margin (and you know which of those options they'll choose). Either way it's more money for GW, not less.

I want to believe

I have loads of Sisters but would buy loads more unless they completely feth up the designs.

I know it's not likely but I am really hoping there is something about a new nid dex by november-feburary. Not a release necessarily, but an up coming release? Please?

If GS Cults come out I imagine Nids would be right behind it.

I'd love to see deathwatch and sisters pan out. The 30k stuff doesn't appeal to me all that much but could be a cool source for conversion fodder.

Deathwatch? Just grab some Deathwatch pauldrons from GW and slap 'em on a Sternguard squad. Bam. Deathwatch.

Codex: Black Templars and Codex: Blood Angels? What? BT are in the new SM book and BA just had their release not long ago.

Plastic Sisters?

Genestealer Cults? Maybe a supplement. This and plastic 30k seem the most plausible to me, but I still doubt it.

I intend to build a Sisters of Battle but I want to see them get plastics so badly. They are the most grim dark gothic Imperial army especially from a model stand point. Even taking all the other models GW and FW has made the only other ones that I think approach conveying that character and atmosphere if the setting are the Voyostroyan. Even though I won't build an army of Sisters, I'm gonna buy a box or two just for a handful of minis and to show support in the hopes that GW recognizes that despite their lack of interest and conviction that there is a strong community interest in seeing strong female characters.

FW has said they're trying to get out all the legion upgrade kits before the end of the year so that every legion is represented in some way... but I think its because of the shift to plastic. People recognize there is a degree of silliness in buying expensive resin miniatures only to toss half the bits to make use of Legion specific upgrades... If the rumors of plastics are true I think we're seeing a realignment getting FW back to selling more supplemental upgrade kits like the Cult Marine ones FW sold for years which upraded the chaos plastics where FW and their Heresy era efforts go to supporting 40k.

People have kinda forgotten half the rumor as far as plastic for Horus Heresy... while they've been described as such and while that's their primary purpose the other half of the rumor is a GW released boxed game that's setting effectively bridges the two eras... because lets be honest GW probably doesn't like to be outdone by FW and wants to do something that refocuses our attention to their "main" product.
