Subject: Recommended reading before the End Times novels?

Hi, all.
I want to read the End Times novels. I am thinking that perhaps I should read some of the background novels first in order to fully understand what's going on and appreciate the characters.
I am thinking that I should at least read Malekith, Shadow King and Caledor as background for The Curse of Khaine, plus the Nagash trilogy as background for The Return of Nagash.
What about The Rise of the Horned Rat and Lord of the End Times? Are there any important books that serve as background for these plotlines?
Thanks in advance!

Sigmar's blood is the prequel to the end times so I'd read that. The two Archeon books set up the main man and his motive well. The Felix and Gotrek novels by Bill King also described the beginnings of the end times long before it actually started, and are very enjoyable (if a little predictable after you've read a couple).

Along with what JamesY said, Headtaker is the prequel to Horned Rat.

The two Archaon books, that's Archaon: Lord of Chaos and Archaon: Everchosen, right?
