Want to be part of it? (Yes, I'm not exactly in the wrong forum. But you're reading, aren't ya?) Adepticon 2007 is a scant 11'ish months away. Between now and then, we get a new edition of Fantasy. I'd like to play in the Fantasy Team Tournament, which necessitates a partner. Unfortunately, the guys way out west here aren't of the type likely to want to journey to Chicago. But Dakkaites are. I'm looking for someone willing to jump into this process with both feet. Given my choice, I'd run a Slaaneshi Daemonic Legion paired with a Dark Elf Cult of Slaanesh (for maximum sexy goodness), but I'm perfectly willing to consider other options (up to and including acquiring and painting a completely new force). (Given that the status of Storm of Chaos remains nebulous, I'd put off serious planning until the Adepticon '07 Council is up and running, and answering questions about allowable armies.) So, who wants to go to the biggest GW event in the country?

Man, I've been seriously thinking hard about taking my Slayers with someone's shootie dwarfs with multiple cannon and gyros and a Thorek Anvil *ahem* (or at least a normal Anvil). Doesn't that sound sexy?
I doubt SoC is going to get ruled out until way after 7th. It's officially in the 2006 GT season, and is meant to be official for evar according to the FAQ.
I'll be waiting for 7th ed before making any serious decisions here, though. What armies to pick up, whether to bother, and so on.
I'm sure you'll find someone willing to go, however. Your idea sounds extremely slick conceptually.

How does it work, do 2 people play a 2k army? If there are more points involved, and a possiblity the Daemonic Legion is allowed what do you think of an undivided DL?
This is still way early and out there for me. But I'm from just outside Chicago originally and was wanting to travel to at least 1 tourny somewhere anyway. I just need details.

If my current partner falls through(big possibility), then my Cult of Slaanesh is more than willing to team with you.

Neth - Malfred posted a link to the 2006 rules. They will likely be revised a bit for next year (some of the mummbling I heard regarding the Fantasy team tourney was that it was too much like 1 2000 pt army, rather than 2 1k armies, like the 40k team tourney is).
Short version: 2 1000 pt forces, any army books, played by two people. 1 Lord choice available to the entire coalition. Missions are supposed to focus on requiring team play, often through interesting objectives. The level of competitivness remains low - Fantasy people in Illinois are much more laid back than the 40k scene. Best "Team Theme" went to a pair of wonderful ladies I know, wearing pirate garb and playing the zombie pirate list. Hilarious.
If Fantasy is your (only) thing, the weekend tends to include 3 fantasy tournaments (the team tourney, a fairly typical RTT, and...something else. This year, it was an escalation battle: bring a 500 pt warband, a 1000 pt army, a 2000 pt army, and a 3000 pt army, all from the same army book, for four consecutive games.)
We should know more about the allowable armies in a month or two, as the Adepticon council starts planning for 2007.

Plus: they stuck fantasy in a tent. How cool is that?
I'm building for Escalation. We'll see in 10 months time whether this is possible for my sanity. (I don't paint too fast and most of my efforts are directed at Warmachine/Hordes).
