hi I am just starting warhammer 40k I have finished a space marine tactical squad and was wondering about dark angel tactics and where whould I go next as I was thinking for saving up for a rhino but I dfont know

Buy the new Codex that comes out this weekend

You'll need an HQ, can't go wrong with a librarian, and i'd recommend another troops choice.

The new Lions Blade formation in the codex that comes out this weekend looks pretty good so I'd try and work towards that to start with. Minimum you'll need a captain or chaplain, 3x 5 tactical marines, 5 assault marines and 5 devastators.

Pretty easy and a good base, unless you have other plans

A new Codex has come out, seemingly stronger than the previous one so you'll want that. The Ravenwing Bikers are all the rage now, so maybe give those a look if you're intrigued.

Just know this:

The game can change drastically and often.

If you plan to play for any length of time invest in staple marine units that will survive the test of time: tactical squads, dreadnoughts, rhinos, etc.

These things aren't going away.

Wonky formation/detachment builds are most likely going to get gutted or dropped entirely sooner or later (history proves), so a good rule of thumb is don't buy more of any one thing than you could field on a normal FOC.

Same goes for allies: expect the allies system to be drastically changed or dropped altogether and buy accordingly lest you get stuck with a bunch of models you can no longer field without fleshing out a new army.

The shiny and OTT features of 7th edition may be in many ways too good to be true, and incapable of standing the test of time,so invest wisely...
