Hey guys. Still decently new to the world of wargaming here, trying to use one of the stickers from a vehicle transfer sheet for a Space Marine tank I'm finishing up. The only problem is I am an idiot and can't get it off with my hands.

Do I need tweezers? Are they like reversible stick on tattoos that come in Cracker Jack bags that require water? I'll try to post up some pictures of the units I've painted thus far for criticism soon too. Thanks!

Take a napkin and get it damp, not soaking wet, place the transfer onto that and it'll slide right off. Make sure to put ard coat onto the place you want to put the transfer and after its placed hit it with some lahmin medium to smooth it out

They're not 'stickers', they're water slide decals.

Awesome, thanks. Trying to decide if they'll look tacky or not on the tank. Leaning towards yes.

*face palm* I am laughing at how frustrated you must have been... I have a love/hate relationship with those damn things. get yourself some micro-sol and micro sert and they wil be easier to work with, and look much, much better.

Man, I can only begin to imagine your frustration.

Anyway, decals/transfers can look good, but they can also look amazingly bad - here is the GW way of doing it -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I36AWCdNJCY

Here is another way to do it -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWCGNhdAmo0 (90 seconds in or so)

You can also float them off, if you have a little water tray. Cut the decal out, float it on the water, and the paper should wick up the water and sink, leaving you with the decal.
Better for small images, but you can then just lift it with something and not risk tearing it.

If you are using waterslide transfers, follow Winterdyne's tutorial. There is not a better one on the internet.

I just read your guide. That's a wonderful document, winterdyne. Big props.

I had not thought of using a wet palette to separate the decal; this is a great idea! Also, because of availability in my area, I use the Vallejo decal products instead of microsol. I should order some from Amazon USA though, and give it a shot.

The wet palette works really well - no more decals floating off only to fold into themselves. It also works well to prevent washing off the adhesive.
Edit: It also works very well for long, thin pin-strip or edging decoration decals as you can get them to lie flat on the palette which stops them curling up when you apply them.
Edit2: I've not tried the vallejo solutions, have tried Humbrol. Wasn't impressed.
