I have a Mordheim list id like you all to take a look at Its 400 gold and its a bog standard Undead list. As im not sure what factions my friends will use (as we have enough random minis to allow pretty much anything) consider this an all comers list.
Vampire w/ Sword and Shield and heavy armor-175
Necromancer w/ Dagger-35
Dreg w/ bow, and Mace-33
Dreg w/ bow, and Mace-33
Dreg w/ Heavy Armor, Mace, Shield-78
Zombie-15
Zombie-15
Zombie-15
So how bad did i screw this up?

Couple of things from my experience, and I'll couch these in 'competitive' versus 'non'.
From a non-competitive standpoint, it looks fine. You have maxed heroes, but few grunts. Your dregs, iirc, are pretty terrible at everything though :-)
From a competitive standpoint, never buy armor early. Those points are better used on dire wolves, who are fast enough to stay with the vampire, and s4, very good in the early game. The bows are wasted on the dregs. Iirc, they're bs2(?), so won't hit the broad side of a barn. Everyone should have double maces or double clubs. More attacks, more chances for criticals which ignore all armor.
So, it depends on the game you're playing - if people all treat it like an RPG, your posted band is great. If someone shows up with 14 skaven all armed with club/dagger/sling, you're toast in short order :-)
I tried Undead, and they're tricky because if the vampire goes down, and dies, the band is pretty much done. But I loved running him into the middle of things - he was a beast. The bottom line is to have fun!

Dregs are lousy, WS and BS 2, the two with the bows are on Necromancer Babysitter duty and they have bows so they can do something when not in melee. I grabbed the armor because i figured it would help the melee dreg not die a terrible death.
Honestly i think my friends will treat it closer to an RPG, though they will take what they feel is good, though i doubt i will face the skaven slingwall (thank god)
Still... might drop the armors and get two Dire Wolves, give my Vamp some puppies to play with.

Yea drop the armor and get some dire wolves. Those things are fast and mean!
They will really round out your force.

Ok, im really curious, if they dont have armor how do they survive more than a round of combat? Most units will hit on a 4+ (give or take) and wound on a 4+ (again give or take) so how do single wound models make it? (im sure im missing something fairly important, and i should probably take a closer look at the rules)

Well I don't play undead but I've fought them before and I'm usually ignoring dregs because I have wolves in my face very quickly.
On top of that, the vampire is my #1 priority!
Keep in mind too that criticals ignore armor and a lot of weapons reduce the armor save anyway making armor ineffective especially early game where the money is better spent elsewhere.
Hope that helps, maybe somebody else has more in-depth advice as I'm not very experienced in mordheim yet!

New list
Vampire w/ Sword and Axer-125
Necromancer w/ Dagger-35
Dreg w/ bow, and Mace-33
Dreg w/ bow, and Mace-33
Dreg w/ Heavy Armor, Mace, Shield-78
Zombie-15
Zombie-15
Zombie-15
Dire Wolf-50
I kept the Dreg in heavy armor because he still pretty fragile so i dont want him eating an arrow and going down, and since he will be punching henchmen in the face he should get its full value most of the time.

Ok, i have news! Still havent played but my friends have more or less made their choices (two still arent sure) So for right now im 95% sure i will be fighting Ogre Maneaters and Wood Elves, and like 60% sure i will be fighting Sisters of Sigmar, our last player was considering Samurai, but that list looks incomplete and not put together the greatest, so hes looking at Bandits right now, but he could play anything. Also we upped the starting GC to 500, so i get more minions!
Here we go again:
Vampire w/ Sword and Axer-125
Necromancer w/ Dagger and shortbow-40
Dreg w/ bow, and Mace-33
Dreg w/ bow, and Mace-33
Dreg w/ Heavy Armor, Mace, Shield-78
Zombie-15
Zombie-15
Zombie-15
Zombie-15
Zombie-15
Zombie-15
Dire Wolf-50
Dire Wolf-50
Total: 498 GC
So ya Zombies, Zombies freakin everywhere, my hope is to be able to just drown my enemies in bodies, thus letting my Vamp kill the big scary things while my wolves go for mages or archers.

I'm late to this one but in case anyone ever reads this again I would suggest loosing the heavy armour and Maces on the Dregs.
Dregs should be tagging along just behind the zeds, shooting off arrows as they go, then rushing in to stab anyone the zeds have knocked to the ground to gain kills.
The Vampire only really needs a sword for parries and any other hand weapon. You then need to use it judiciously as it will kill lots but can easily be overwhelmed. Don't get into scraps with more than two opponents especially if one is a captain of some sort.
Finally I suggested dropping a load of stuff and this is a) to leave out superfluous kit you won't need but also so that you can b) buy and Ogre Merc. Ogres can be a bit meh on their own but they synergies so well witha vampire it's not true. Having another living M6 body is sweet but when it hits at S6 and sends opponents straight out the it can really help to keep enemy numbers down around your vampire.
Also if you can get sprint on your vampire, DO IT!
Laugh as enemy snipers are charged down from 18" away! Undead are the best starter warband IMHO.

I agree with notprop. Drop all the extra gear and put minimal equipment on guys, specifically dregs(they are horrible but needed for end of game stuff) you can get 2 more zombies to max out your warband if you drop some gear. Maybe another dire wolf. After a few games your vamp should be a pure killing machine. Charging 18", 4 attacks, str7-8, etc he will be murdering guys. The other characters are purely support and as you level up you will be replacing zombies with dogs. In mordheim at the beginning, bodies win games.
