I originally got into wargaming about ~13 years ago, spreading my resources over WH40k Orks and Tyranids, Inquisitor and Mordheim. After a number of abysmal paint jobs and frankenstein conversions I eventually put the remnants away for a long hiatus until about a year and a half ago.

The wargaming scene is a little dry in my locale and the ones that are played I don't care much for the rules systems (or model prices!). I have a warband for Song of Blades and Heroes, and a few more in progress, in the hope that the simple rules make for a good pick up game. I am also about to buckle down and start putting together my undead orc army for Kings of War, as it looks to be getting some momentum now the second edition is coming out.

Still working on my painting skill, it's definitely improved since way back when I first started, but still have a ways to go. I think the main problem is buying models faster than I can paint them...

I'm in east Kent! Yeah I'm really looking forward to reading through the second edition rulebook so I can plan out my army, one of my favourite things about KoW is being able to use whatever minis you want, there's a lot of great smaller companies out there that make great models.

Heya Kleggt welcome to Dakka.

I know how you feel about having too many models to paint! I've just came back again after about a year out and I think part of the problem was because I was over-faced by the plastic mountain. My advice is to hide everything from yourself except for the things that you are currently painting. Seems to have worked a little bit for me anyway.

Just had a little peek at your other thread too, very nice stuff!

Thanks! Yeah I lock mine away out of site, I try to limit myself to only get something once I finish painting another, but i always end up trawling eBay for new shinies.

It sounds like a blast, I would probably need some practice first though... and to have some units actually finished!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
