Hope this is the right place to post this, sorry if it's not.
I have just gotten some Skaven in a trade. I also have a bunch of small round bases left over from changing over my Ork boyz to 32mm bases. Since AoS is using round bases, should I put the Skaven clanrats/slaves on the round bases?

It truly doesn't matter. The rules don't care what base you're using.

HOWEVER, the round bases totally look cooler and make more sense for a skirmish based game. I'm going to be using round bases for all my models. I really wish GW would publish a list of recommended round/oval bases sizes for their units. I would have liked to have seen that on the War Scrolls.

Seems pretty simple to swap your squares to rounds:

Square >> Round
20mm >> 25mm
25mm >> 32mm
40mm >> 40mm
50mm >> 60mm
25x50 >> Bike Lozenge
50x75 >> 60mm
50x100 >> Flyer Oval
100x150 >> Knight Oval?

As suggested by photos of GW's rebased models, as well as some years experience swapping models between 40k and Fantasy

EDIT: 50mm rounds are totally new to me, so might work for those 50mm monstrous beasts which don't take up their base like true monsters do. The big guys look good on 60mm round, but slightly smaller baddies could be swamped.

Excellent table Boss Salvage!

Only thing I would edit is Square 40mm should go on round 50mm, to follow the same process as all the other bases. And we have some new models i AoS that are too small for 50mm but too large for 32mm such as the Sigmarites. They should be the ones on 40mm round. IMHO, of course!

Don't the Sigmarines actually come on 32mm round bases? And sure, 40mm monstrous infantry probably look better on 50mm, but I'm not sure what goes on 40mm rounds then - and it's an extremely prevalent base size (one I have literally hundreds of), while I don't know anything that comes on 50mm rounds. Assuming it's part of the new 40k rebasing?

Nope. The web store says 40mm for the Liberators and Celestant.

Yup, 40mm for the Stormhost. I have them so I'm pretty sure of it

In 40k, there are stuff like Centurions standing on 50mm, and some Warg heroes in Lotr as well. Its a pretty good size for monsters like trolls and ogres too now.

Personally, for my Khorne berserkers I am using square 2.5 cm bases. This allows me to use them in 8th edition and in Mordheim.

So I started rebasing some rats. I think they look better on round bases.

I'm keeping my stuff on square bases for compatibility purposes (I want to play oldhammer and KoW).
