Subject: Civilian Models for 40k?
|
 |
Crazed Cultist of Khorne

Does anyone know where I can pick up some relatively cheap Civilian models that would fit into a 40k setting. I have a campaign planned and need civilians for some of the missions but i can't seem to find any searching online.
Thanks in advance
EDIT:
I know gw don't produce any such miniatures so i am looking for either conversion ideas or third party stuff.

I think you might find them in places like Perry Miniatures, by typing search words like "peasant" or "civilian". Here are a couple that might work:
AO35 Peasants 1
AO36 Peasants 2

O Scale railway minis are ok. Not exact but good enough and plastic O Scale civvies are cheap as chips on EBay, etc.

If it was civilian survivalists who'd manage to scrape together a few weapons, Necromunda models might work?

There are also some actual Monks from Wargames Foundry, who could be " 40k-ed up" if you like:
http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/ancients/civilians
and some Mega-City 1 civilians from Mongoose Publishing:
http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/citizens-of-mega-city-one-1.html
http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/citizens-of-mega-city-one-2.html
Any of the Tech-priest, Magos, servitor, etc, miniatures would also work with weapons removed, or the Astra Militarum Regimental Advisors and psykers. Ursakar Creed would also work, too. There were once some Warhammer Empire civilians - a merchant and scribe, an entertainer and dancing bear and a pair of duellists - which would also do, if you can find them.

Empire millitia can work, as long you stike to bare heads/hats (no helmets), and chop the weapons off the hands (maybe you can keep some, even civis can have simple weapons after all)
http://www.games-workshop.com/en-WW/Empire-Free-Company
Will get repetitive after more than one box, but how many civis do you NEED? because this will make 20.
Do note, this will represent the poor people. not sure how much most IoM factions will bother saving them.
This kit is also what I recommend for cultist conversion (just add gun bitz, and chaosify by flavor.)
http://www.games-workshop.com/en-WW/Empire-Flagellant-Warband also works for the REALLY low class, and cultists.
http://www.games-workshop.com/en-WW/Empire-Crossbowmen can be used for higher class people with the fancy hats and all, but will require more parts and work due to pose.

Aren't the Empire Free Company figures going away?

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase. |

I know you've found what you need, but I'd have searched for "2000ad" models or Paranoia, depending what you want.
