Good evening Dakka. Just finished that Nurgle floating psyker. The concept is that of a once very powerful sorcerer now fallen from Nurgle's grace and aimlessly lurks the hull of ships lost in the warp, looking to share his gifts of sickness. Let me know what you think.

Hard to tell what it is honestly... something looks like it clogging up detail i am not sure what though :(

It's definitely got some murky details, but I think that that adds to the 'Nurgle-iness.' The slimy effect works pretty well throughout most of the model, but I'd definitely hit the red cloak with a coat of matt varnish. That way, the gloss looks more intentional and noticeable on the gore and rot.

Hmmm, using two kinds of varnish alongside, yeah this is a good idea thanks, I might try that next time a model is rocking out with its guts out.

And yeah I'll admit I had trouble taking pictures of that one, since it is basically a mass of wires and tentacles. The hard white light might not have helped.

It is kind of hard to see the former psyker in there, but then again, Nurgle.

At any rate its a good scratch build and if you plunked it down on my table and said this is a psyker, I'd probably only pause the game to talk about how you made it. That's literally the only way this dude would slow the game down.

So... How did you make it?

Gets along better with animals... Go figure.

I like the conversion work. I think you have fallen foul of a common pitfall: painting Nurgle too muddy. It's not going to pop on the tabletop without some lighter colours. You could just add some highlights. super sickly pale skin or glowy green slime would help.

Well lots of green stuff, the head was is a scuplting experiment that ended up in the "deformed so try it on a Nurgle guy later on " category. The ribcage is from a skeleton, so are some of the arms (after repositioning), then more tentacles out of metal wires, greenstuff cables, an ork blade and a berserk bunny ear as tools. The hood is half a vehicle hatch with more greenstuff wiring coming out (psychic hood style). And the cape is from a dried up grapefruit skin, treated with PVA. You can find some WIP on my blog starting at this post

Thanks. Yeah If I were to paint it again I would go for a much paler colored head, and be much less heavy handed on the gloss, this is all kept in mind for further models.
