Good day, I recently developed an interesst in Infinity and if I make good money with some minis I'm trying to sell, I might start my own little force.

I haven't check the army builder yet, but I have browse their shop to find minis that I like in the Yu-Jing Faction. So here what I plan to start my army with:
4 Shaolin Warrior Monks (Combi-rifle, Shock CCW x2 and the Chain rifle dude)
O-Yoroi Kidobutai with the 2 CrazeKoalas

So those are them odels who really catch my eyes. Probably heavy on the CCW side, so I can switch it up for the rest of the list I think. If I understand correctly the game, I should look into an engineer to keep my Kidobutai up and running. Also maybe a Doctor (but I don't like the model for some reason, so I would stay away from it)

The other model I enjoy are:
Sun Tze (sniper or boarding shotgun)
Guilang (Combi-rifle or sniper)
Domaru Butai
HSIEN (multi-rifle one)
Zuyong Invincible
Tokusetsu Kohei
Yan Huo Invincible.

Sorry if it's not an usual thread. So, is it possible to build a well-rounded (or semi-competitive) force with the model I listed, using Monk as my troops and Kidobutai as my TAG? (Aiming at 200-300pts)

In all theory it could work, but the monks kind of cause a problem. They can't share the order they generate. What this means is you only have 6 orders to use as you please.

Yeah. Maybe could cut 2 monks to make a list with 8 normal order.

For the rest, do I have big hole for certain type of unit?

I don't see any holes in the list, Guilang are incredible. Do you know what kind of games are they focusing on in your area? ITS or certain missions? Do they use heavy terrain, are long fire lanes common?

I personally don't care for the sniper version of Sun Tze, Yu Jing has a nice sniper in the Bao Troop.

You should aim at 10 regular orders at 300 pts
Anything less and it's a real struggle
Heavy Infantry Sun Tzu is probably a better choice than the sniper one
Also don't give combi rifles to the monks, they're terrible shots, a Chain Rifle is perfect for them

No, I don't know yet. We seem to have a couple player in the area, but no real 'community' started. I will work on that

Use any doctor-ish looking model, including one from another faction or even the JSA engineer. Paint it in YJ colours and nobody will notice let alone mind.

I suggest you get some learner games before you commit to a purchase. Infinity doesn't really have a "troops" type role in the usual sense, and monks are wildly unsuited to act as its closest counterpart. Make sure you understand how this game plays and what these models will be doing in your army before you pick them up

Yu Jing have some sweet remotes, but the only specialist type remote for any faction is a Forward Observer.

There is a Dakini Paramedic available to Aleph and the Imperial Service sectorial. Good obj. runner with 6-4 Move, WIP 13, Mimetism and silhouette 2.

Those are definitely a good option.

I have one with my Imperial Service, planning on painting it up as the 'personal bot' of the Imperial Agent, having it really ornate looking with small murals and stylised artwork on it etc.

Thanks for all the feedback. I will definitly play some games using W40k model as proxy before I buy anything. I was curious to see what people think about Monks list.

They seem 'hard-ish' to play with their irregular order and impetuous, but I kind of like that they get to 'act' twice per turn (due to impetuous). Melee weapon + smoke grenade was really appealing to me too.

Anyway, like I said, I will try them first. Thanks for the tips on the medic side, I might just find another model I like and play him as my TOKUSETSU medi

I would take Shaolin with the CCW as the Chain Rifle variants, as they aren't very good shots so the CR is cheaper and doesn't require BS to use.

I would think about getting some more (regular) orders in there, maybe from Zhanshi. Having a TAG and expensive HI means that the other orders may come from less powerful models.

I wouldn't go this far. I've used 8-9 regular order lists just fine. 7 or less per combat group is where you start hurting.

Ya, I did a couple game with some proxy, and 9 regular order seem like a nice spot for me.
