When you say "battle forged" are you going with the ITC army building format or with straight BRB format?

BRB format, no experimental rules.

So you can have unlimited CADs and Formations and such as long as they fit into 1850 points?! Nifty.

The unmodified book rules seems like a refreshing way to play, honestly. It is nice to have a one-off ITC format every once in a while.

I'd get in on this but Sac is a bit far for me to travel for a two day tourny (I'm in San Jose).

Should make it a weekend get away. Not that far unless you're going by public transit then I can see it be a little more pain to do.

andysonic, I see your 2 hours and raise you 3.5 more. I'm coming up from Los Angeles.

I'm with Panzer. andysonic, you've got to drive 2 hours for a SIX game GT, when the ITC GTs seem to be 5 Rounds as of the last LVO.

I am stoked for the mechanic of a 2-in-1 set up, the 2nd day being an RTT for 50% losers.

Aside from BAO there aren't any GTs that are closer that I'm aware of. Hope you can make it. I know a few people coming from San Jose if transportation is an issue - PM me.

Yup, a weekend in Sacramento playing 40K is pretty great. The store hosting us is the biggest I'm aware of in all of Northern California.

Glad to have you coming up. We've got 6 of the top 10 ITC ranked players currently signed up and I expect Julio should come up, right?

I'm glad I'm able to run a 2 in 1 event. Who wants to play 6 rounds if you know you can't win anything after day 1, right?

Yes.

Just so it is obvious, so that everyone is aware, does this also mean that multiple cads means you can take multiple lords of war (e.g. more than one Wraithknight per army)?

Yes. Battle-forged means that anyone can bring any legal list, including 1 or more Wraithknights provided they are taken in appropriate detachments. Since we are not banning CTA it means that everyone essentially has access to the same units in every army, with the deployment and location restrictions described in the ally limitations. Also, note that the Escalation bonus VP conditions are in effect.

OH GOSH THE PEER PRESSURE.

Really though, I'm running Daemonkin and not anything cheesy (and the ban on experimental rules means no chaos titans or kytan), so I think I'd get my butt handed to me pretty quickly. If my list somehow gets better in the next month I'll sign up. I feel like I'm getting somewhere with my Gorepack spam, but I need to run it against some cheese first.

So lets see who will be the guy to bring a single Windrider host and 4-5 Wraith Knights for their Eldar Warhost!

Don't be that guy, Adam. Remember, you're going for Best Sportsman!

It's that GTA guy who'll prolly bring 3 WKs.

If I go, I may bring 1, MAYBE 2 wraithknights... They are more of a liability in this event's meta IMO.

I'll likely allow experimental units into future events on an "approved list" basis. You could certainly run an Imperial Knight for this event in lieu of the Chaos Knight. As for cheese - I think the people that play in my events recognize that an all out fight requires both brutality and cunning. No one wants to bring a knife to gun fight. We award the person who first tables their opponent each round - in a good spirited way. We also award bonus raffle tickets to people who lose their matches. Everyone gets something and we all get to attempt to crush our opponents.

That wasn't by accident. Nor is the fact that you have to go undefeated for 6 rounds to win, and the size of twin has no bearing on the overall winner. Nor is the fact that your army has to be able to play simultaneous/parallel missions in 4 rounds, maelstrom in a 5th and an all out kill point match to take home the trophy.

Yo,

I have a quick question: Can you bring Sevrin Loth or any named forgeworld llibrarian as part of the SM Librarius conclave? Forgeworld hasn't released an FAQ yet so we don't know. I e-mailed them and they said to just play it however I want (lol). I'm assuming you could, because they specifically mention being allowed to take Tigurius in a conclave, it's just that he's the only named librarian in the codex. So I'm assuming named libbys can also be taken as part of the formation instead of just generic librarians, which makes sense, including forgeworld ones if forgeworld is allowed.

Is this ok?

Thanks. Hope to be able to come. I like your mission format! Should be a good event to see which lists are strong in all settings!

At this time, I will not be allowing FW named characters to sub in for generic Librarians, Captains and Chaplains in formations. While I completely understand that this seems reasonable, the ripple effect of rules decisions that would have to be FAQ'd are more than I am willing to tackle so close to the event. This is consistent with the position that FLG has expressed on their podcast. My understanding is that Badab Wars is being updated very soon, so let's hope FW updates their characters soon, or their FAQ.

Hope to be able to come. I like your mission format! Should be a good event to see which lists are strong in all settings!

I hope you can make it. Thanks.

I guess we have even more people celebrating their birthdays. That should make the party even sweeter.

We're excited that Punchdub is using http://www.battle-comm.com/ for the Know No Mercy GT. We're working with Punch to send all current registered participants invites to create Battle-Comm profiles starting next week. We'll have an RSS feed to provide ongoing event coverage and we've got a quite a few other surprises in store as well. Stay tuned!
