Hello all, I have built 1 box of Windrider jetbikes with scatter lasers to start with, and plan to purchase another box in a couple of days time.
I wanted to ask the community, in terms of which loadout is best for them, stock?, scatter lasers? shuriken Cannon?
Or maybe it is best to have a unit of both etc?.
Just any thoughts on the overall best loadout for a all comers lists.
Cheers

Scatter lasers for days, you don't need anything else.

Scatters are the TAC go-to choice.
There are a few cases where cannons are better
Basic catapults are there if you want a few guys out front to die, or you don’t want to rub cheese in your friend’s faces.
Magnets if you want to future proof your models.

Agree whole heartedly with the magnets, doesnt take long and you can swap.
But how often am I going to nto run SL, probably like never, but I want the option, since some tourneys are all WYSIWYG, and a stock group is cheap and could win you the game with obsec and trubo boosting to the enemies deployment for linebreaker. But for volume of shots and length you need SL. I am pretty sure if you search for this it has been discussed many times and guys have even done the math to prove SL is better than SC.

Magnetise FTW.
But right now scatter laser your opponent all day every day while he grumble grumbles about the INCREDIBLE mid-field firepower you can bring for cheap points.

The only reason not to take Scatter Lasers on all of the bikes is if you're trying to make a friendly list that the majority of people will want to play against again.

Scatter lasers are disgustingly good. Just played against them in a 600 point doubles tournament. Safe to say my partner and I didn't last two turns against them.

I make bad decisions and think they are good.

Ok thank you for the replies, I will go the Scatter Laser route then.
One other question I thought I would ask, I picked up a wraith Lord yesterday (Love the model), and was wondering how people are running these in the latest dex?
Cheers

I was actually running my wraithlords with dual scatter laser, since I have three like that and didn't magnetise that's how I'll still be running them whenever I use them. I just liked how they had 8 s6 shots at decent range to try to make up for their slow speed.

Does the Windrider formation's Shred option make Shuriken Cannon/Catapult any better?
Wraithlords are T8, so are immune to S4 fire. They will draw the heavy weapons away from other models.
Their statline isn't great, so keep a Farseer or Spiritseers close to help with that.
I put BLs on them, and stay at range. They're able to deter outflankers and deep-strikers.

If you take the Wraithhost, you'll get battle focus. inside of a warhost detachment, you'll auto run 6"
That wraithlord will get across the table, and still be able to shoot.
They can be infantry eaters.

I'd recommend against Scatterlasers because it sounds like people will hate you for spamming them.
It's even repeatedly derailed an unrelated thread about Terminators.

I was thinking of going 2 x Shuriken cannon and sword with the free 2 x Flamers on the wraithlord.
Do you think this would be a fine setup?

It should be good for most things, and cheap.
But, with a good LoS over most terrain, shoulder-mounted AV guns can be good, too. You'll probably have enough Shuriken elsewhere.

So bright lance + 2 flamers + sword, would be a better combo?.
1 bright lance or 2?

I'd go for 2. Better chance of getting that kill.
Mixing weapons doesn't often work.
You'll get the usual options listed:
Starcannon against powered armour and light vehicles,
Brightlances against vehicles,
Shuriken cannon if you need more semi-rend S6,
Missile launchers for AA and general, but is expensive,
Scatter laser for everything else.
So, if you need AV in your list, a Wraithlord with BLs is a good choice.
It can be a bit expensive, can use help from a Psyker, but can hold its own if the deep-strikers come calling.

hmm, well I have currently made my war walker unit anti tank duty with Eml/Bright Lance.
I guess the best option would be to magnetize, I just wanted to see the community's view on best general loadout.
Are star cannons a decent option?
Cheers

I wish the wraithlord was a bit better - I really love the model.
Dual flamers is nice (especially with the new Ravenwing naughtiness).
What he really needed to make him good was access to D-weaponry.

That's what the wraithseer is for.
Still I think maybe they just needed to have the weapons for it a bit cheaper and it's all good. Probem I see with the WL is how it tends to get overshadowed by things, like last edition it was the wraithknight and sort of is a bit again this edition, but along with other things such as war walkers.
