*Slams pint of ale on the table*

*Calls attention to the room*

This is a thread for the Longbeards.

*Walks up and down the aisle of short beards, eyeing them up*

First, introduce yourself.

I am Troll Slayer Thorak'Khun'Na, third of my lineage, twice forsaken, fourth son of Ghor'Az'MoLaqq.

Few mortals have travelled in my footsteps.

*Grabs pint of ale from a short beard and chugs it in half a gulp*

*Belch*

How did I get my name you ask?

I slayed the Torto'Mrelle Troll, the most conniving and dangerous beast to ever harass the people of Ghal'An'Okkhan. Where scores of men fell at his nasty claws before, I lopped his head off with one swing of my mighty axe.

What makes me a longbeard you ask?

How about this... 500 games played, 34 campaigns completed, over 75% win percentage and 10% leave the opponent crying.

I am a champion of the Old World.

And now I have come to the New World, Age of Sigmar.

This is a discussion thread for the Longbeards. I have no interest in what the short beards think.

So, Longbeards, first state your accomplishments.

Then, we discuss.

Let the discussion begin.

*Roars to thunderous applause and slams another pint of ale*

I remember chasing a necromancer in a circle around my bolt thrower with a unit of dwarves back in 4th edition, because we didn't know that you removed the warmachine when the crew all died.

Good times.

In my early days as a master engineer my cannon was ambushed by the cursed scouts of the wood elves. My stand and shoot reaction was to fire my pigeon bomb, which promptly misfired, hitting every member of my crew. In the aftermath not one crewman was injured, and three elves were blasted to pieces. The rest turned an fled back into the woods. Beware the pigeon bomb...

I remember once when naggash fought Karl Franz and turned him into a wight....

I remember using nurgles rod and a whole beefed up unit of 30 2 wound beastmen.

I remember my army setting up for a seige and 30 dark elf crossbowmen rolling up mutations of chaos and receiving missle launcher mutation... fastest seige ever... blew down one wall and Empire/Elves surrendered... GM was having hard time keeping secret before the game on that mutation roll lol.

I remember my undead when they had bows, catapults, etc... and when tomb kings were born...

I remember when my chaos was torn apart to form Mortals, beasts, and daemons...

I remember lots of battles, and good fluffy stories by troll slayers with toofy grins .

Now hand me another brew and tell your tale

My beard is long. My beard is so long that people say things like "That's a pretty long beard" and "How long is that beard?" and "I don't know precisely, but it's certainly very long indeed."

So what do you think of AoS?

I've yet to play a game but am scheduled with a particular chump for a match at the local store. My Dwarfs, his Empire.

I'm used to crushing this kid but need to know what the veterans are doing in AoS.

Give me some tactics. No newbie stuff.

from what i hear fear the gunline and range attacks. I havent played AOS yet and probably wont but i have seen a batrep or two where EMpire with range is nasty.

Back on topic i remember some other stories lol....

I remember when my undead army went against my brother's bretonnians (mostly knights) and i had a dragon that came out of high sky and caused multiple terror checks that were failed and most of his army ran off the board. I remember this well cause the opposing general cried over this and i even managed to get a picture ... yeah when i was a young beard i was a power gaming jerk ... but its sort of funny looking back ... and i can say that cause it was my brother who was the opposing general and i happened to find old pictures in photo album the other day of the battle and him crying lol.

More ale here!
