Hopefully other gods will get more attention but it seems to me like Khorne gets way more than other gods. Khorne has the first (and only) daemonkin book and the only chaos superheavy from GW. Any rumors to add other god's daemonkin books and/ or super heavies? IMO it would be cool if the vanilla chaos marines and daemon books were phased out for 4 daemonkin books that could ally. Thoughts?

He's been ferried through hell on a ship that's ten thousand years old to some godforsaken, war-torn rock; He is one of ten million men snatched from his home to fight a war he barely understands; He wages war against devouring hiveminds, ravenous demons and hordes of hyper-advanced aliens with strange technologies and sorceries he never dreamed existed; no one will remember his sacrifice, there will be no records of his deeds, no glorious parades in his honor, and no remembrance of his name. All he will earn is a shallow, unmarked grave on a forgotten world untold lightyears from home.

Yet for all this thankless sacrifice a Guardsman is a man, just like you. He has no millennia-old genetic engineering, no prophetic leader, no miracles of faith. He has his lasgun, his orders, and those beside him. He is the Imperial Guard.

And he will hold the line.

Khorne is the best for Advertisement...So yes. He is your basic image of a Demon that most people would Imagine . So he is probably the most popular with fan base.

That's the reason why GW has been pushing khorne more than the rest... closest thing to "kid friendly" than the rest. GW is not like they used to be....

Khorne is the easiest to explain. If there was any justice and truth to the background, Tzeentch daemons would be S1, T1, W1, I1, A1, Ld10, Adamantium Will; if they are truly master manipulators there would be rules allowing them to determine the matchups in tournament brackets with them being total wusses on the battlefield. Slaanesh would be difficult to describe in polite company, with the description rarely outside of XXX territory.

Nurgle is likely the next most easy after khorne to explain to people, but explaining that the Daemons are fairly personable while acting like mad doctors can be difficult to get across to some people.

*looks at tzeentch* semi-egyptian themed bird-thingies with evil wizards.

*looks at khorne* "Those are the ones I wanna play, mommy, the ones that look like Satan! RUO REHTAF OHW TRA NI NEVAEH" "ohhhhkay dear I'll just pick up a box of these here slaughterdeathlords and this one who's bathing in the blood of a couple innocents, won't you have fun painting these my little snoogums? So creative!"

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

As the face of Chaos? They get more publicity, yes. On the tabletop? They're pretty awful, and don't get a lot of love.

What can you do when GW loses its head while thinking about Khorne sales?

Nurgle arguably gets more even more love, with the Glottkin etc.
It is strange that sex, drugs etc. is not acceptable, but violence, brutal murder, genocide and bloated corpses with dangling intestines are perfectly fine.

You sir earn an exalt!

Regarding Khorne, it is sure the most popular, perhaps because it is the most common representation of Demons people have. A Bloodthirster is not that far from Satan imagery. And sadly, GW has no shown how little interest they have on things that don't sell. Diversity, background richness and things like these are no longer of their concerns I guess...

Khorne always has. What Khorne's about can be summed up really easily while the other gods are a bit more nuanced than "blood skulls murder murder". Khorne's a pretty iconic bad guy.

In a game about endless war it makes sense that the 'war god' would get most of the attention, but I too hate how the other three get pushed to the back-burner when they have far more depth and character then Khorne ever will!

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

I always thought it would be cool if the chaos gods were chaotic neutral instead chaotic evil. So for Khorne, he would have an honorable aspect to him, not executing prisoners, allowing defeated enemies to flee, stuff like that. Instead of the blood crazed lunatics Khorne seems to sponsor

It depends who's writing and what era of 40k it is. Khorne used to be about martial honor, and even the old World Eaters models weren't all Khorne Berserkers, but Khorne-worshipping Chaos Marines with bolters and the like.

It is my opinion that they are just called "Chaos Gods," and not an indication of some sort of D&D like alignment system.

This is why Papa Nurgel has been described as a god of life and laughter within the Codex
Also why Tzeentch feeds off plans well executed, and is following his own Plan to the very letter
Or why Slaanesh.... or why Slaanesh.... umm, help me find something out-of-place in the lust that is Slaanesh

Because for some strange reason North American "parents" get their panties all in a twist over the evil that are a pair of boobies, but extreme graphic violence and video games/movies that are clearly rated '18+ only' are super kid friendly.

Slaanesh is not JUST sex, and drugs iirc. Slaanesh is about excess of ALL things. Art, sex, drugs, music, etc. Slaanesh is about reveling in the joys of life, which yes, can be sex.
