My new Space Marine Chapter are known as the Purple Consuls. Created by the Inquisition after the upstart Tau Empire became prominent, outside of any known founding, they just seemingly appeared out of thin air at a time nobody save the Chapter Master or Head Consul would know.

Head Consul: Trabius Regnautus
Chapter Symbol: Much like other consul chapters, an eagle's head, but there are three of them upon a lions body, it is unknown where this comes from but is another connection to the Alpha Legion's "Hydra".
Founded: 135.M40 (CIRCA)
Descendants of: Administratum theorises Ultramarines but as they are non codex compliant, this has raised some issues over the records. Others theorize Alpha Legion, much as Blood Ravens with Thousand Sons.
Specialty: Diplomacy, Manipulation of Battlefield.

Brother Securus is recognisable as a Tactical Marine, First Squad, Third Company from the colours on his armour.
Right knee is squad markings, right shoulder is squad designation, left knee is company marking. The lack of symbols or numbers make it hard for outsiders to effectively fight alongside them, thus leaving a marked distrust. This also takes inspiration from the Alpha Legion's heraldry, which has lead some to believe they are actually have Alpharius' gene-seed, but they worship no Primarch. Only Regnautus can know.

The Purple Consuls have armour that is purple with gold detail and trims, they also have red eyes. Their red hands display the mastery at which they direct the theatre of war, dictating the pace and coercing units to the right position for they are directors, and the battlefield is merely their stage.

The most recent task the Purple Consuls have recieved is to persuade the Farsight Enclaves to more actively destroy their 'loyalist brethren' in order to strike at the heart of their empire. So far, contact with Farsight proves troublesome and with Abaddon threatening to break the Cadian gate, tensions are high.

It is unknown as to why this particular chapter focuses on coercion and speech than others, but the chapters neophytes go through rigorous testing, training and observation of their mental capacity before they can be called full Battle Brothers. They are charismatic soldiers but they focus less on Firepower and more on tactical movement to pin the enemy, allowing other Imperial forces to decimate them

Needs details to give feedback. Too little to really say anything.

1) Does the Inquisition have the power to make a chapter? or does it fall on a conclave on inquisitors petitioning the high lords of Terra? not really a criticism, just something to consider.
2) Space Marines and diplomacy do not actually go hand in hand
3) the Inquisitor and the Chapter themselves would be purged for heresy for the mere idea of pulling Tau into the Imperium. I'd recommend finding a different way to get space marine and tau allies.

Beyond that, it's seems fairly well thought out at the current moment, but fill in more if you want better comments and criticisms. The only thing I can think of regarding the paint scheme is that it may be a little to cluttered with 6 colors per space marine.

I actually like the fluff. I do agree that it needs to be expanded on a bit, and I do somewhat question the focus on diplomacy (since marines aren't really known for that), but otherwise I like it.

i made the same mistake of saying they "just turned up out of thin air" figure out when the tau became prominent (i think it was m35 but im not sure) and say they were founded then.

I found the Reasonable Marines!... I suggest changing them to the Royal Consuls
