Subject: Grey knight ally. ravenwing or space marine bikes?

I have a small grey knight force that i would like some allies to. I have 9 bikes that i would like to add to gain mobility and some grav.
Marines i could go librarian on bike and 2 squads of 4 bikes and later i could build around centurions if i wanted.
Dark angels i dont know so much about, but they have teleport homing device or whatever it's called on their bikes and i've heard they should be quite powerful.
I am aiming for around 500 - 100 points of allies depending on total points on army. What would you choose and why?

If you plan on deep striking the majority of your grey knight terminators, it may be more beneficial for you to run Dark Angels due to the built in teleport homers. In addition, the Ravenwing special rule allows them to reroll jink saves, so they can stick around longer than regular marines. Now if you take it a step further and take the Ravenwing Detachment, then you can turbo boost turn 1 and count as jinking without needing to snap fire in the following turn.
But if points are tight, white scars will get more in for you.

I would take vanilla because you want grav bikes. Black knights are a reason why I would take Ravenwing.

Black knights only have that plasma talon weapon? So if i just want pure grav bikes normal marines are better?

and hammers for assault. black knights are enough of a reason to use dark angels, just put some grav guns on those ravenwing too then teleport onto them.

The reason not to go dark angels - is that you waste points on troops that could serve you better. Argueably - esp with terminators - the bikes / homing beacons can be better.
If you go vanilla marines - go white scars, +1 jink, ability to ignore dangerous terrain, and cheaper bikes ... its just where its at.
I put a techmarine on a bike (str 8 ap1 servo arm anyone?)
So I can take bike squads as troops - 2 grav 1 melta
then I roll with 3 Sicarans.
Bikes with Grav / Melta are great, because it forces your opponent to choose between them and your dreadknights / terminators in their back line. That way you can keep them wrong footed and take tactical advantage.

You don't have to take troops in a Dark Angels detachment.

Most tournament formats, including ITC and ATC now allow other dark angel HQ on bikes in that detachment. Some do and some do not also grant them the Ravenwing rule so check with your TO before.
