i am wondering if i should play this. a group of people at my schoolalready play because they cant aford large armys of 40k so is NEC fun? becuase if it is i am going to play it.

Yup. Its definitely fun. I haven't played it since Gw dropped support for it because everyone I knew sold off their gangs but I remember it being a very fun game.

I used to play it when it first came out. I still play it now.

I played 40K when it first came out. I don't play it now.

There is a reason I still play Necromunda. It is fun.

My favorite was Escher. They were just so full of character. I loved watching the girls beat up on the big musclebound Goliaths.

I played Escher, Pit Slaves, and Spyrers. My advice is to take a gang you like the look of the best.

The game is great. You should play it.

I'd start off with Orlocks, as they're the 'default' style of gang and can sorta do anything (just not any one thing particularly well). Then move onto other, better gangs, like Delaques, or Delaques or perhaps even try out the Delaques.

But seriously folks, to start out take any of the six main gangs you like the look of and leave the Outlaws alone for a bit.

For accessibility the Delaques and Orlocks are the easiest to get alternate models for.

alternateive models is not an issue. i was thinking about hive spyrers.

Spyrers can be tricky. If you're not careful, they get mauled in the early days. If they survive that, they very quickly become hideously powerful, and people stop wanting to play games against you. This is balanced out somewhat by the fact they you're supposed to retire them when they hit a certain rating, but you have plenty of time to do monstrous things with them, particularly against less experienced gangs.


As a first-time gang, though, I would recommend against it. Try one of the 'normal' gangs first to get a feel for how the game works before trying to work out game rules and Spyrer synergy at the same time...

Having a necromunda gang is like starting a family. You get so attatched to all your little guys and pretty soon every small victory is massive joy and every little set back is crushing tragedy. And when you roll up those serious injuries and somebody dies man you feel that loss. Necromunda is the kind of game where every dice roll really counts and can change the whole game. And the post battle sequence can be just as nailbiting!

I've seen that Delaque gangs get very good and hard to beat early on, it's the Combination of stealth and shooting skills I think. Escher gangs get agility skills which in game terms often don't add up to much. Spirers are best avoided, they don't make the game more fun for anyone. But if you really want fun it's Scavvies all the way!

All of the main gangs play wonderfully against each other.

I got the old necromunda rules and i am playing delaque. my leader is a HEROFORGE custom model. there amazing if you can get the size right

The old school skirmish games like Necromunda and Mordheim are always worth playing. The great thing about NEC is you can use the models for games of Inquisitor at 28mm scale. The modeling and painting possibilities are endless. Go for it!
