So I just got my KOW stuff, and have been reading through it, and unless I am completely blind, it doesn't mention anything about Large Infantry/Cavalry, Artillery, Monsters, or Character having mroe than 1 wound. Am I misreading it, or does every model in the game really only get 1 wound?

Nothing really has wounds... A unit takes damage and then takes tests to see if it is removed. No individual models are ever removed until the entire unit is removed and the effectiveness of the unit does not falter from damage as long as it remains on the table

I'm on a podcast about (video) game design:

And I also make tabletop wargaming videos!

Its a unit based game rather than an individual based game.

So wounds are non existent.

See the rules for damage and nerve etc.

Everything makes a lot more sense now, thanks, I missed that initially.

No problem.

My advice is to play 1 game. After 1 game you will have a lot of it nailed down pretty quick.

It certinaly looks fun, and I've heard good things about it. I also heard it's a lot faster than WHFB, that's a plus in my book.

Are you using warhammer armies or are you starting fresh?

The reason my signature is "Paper Proxy Man" is because I'm a High School Student who's saving for college. I don't have the money to afford actual miniatures, so it will be starting fresh.

Even better for KoW then.

You could play using cardboard or movement trays.

Draw pictures of the unit if you want.

The game is great, we've had a lot of fun.

Playing: Droids (Legion), Starks (ASOIAF), BB2
Working on: Starks (ASOIAF), Twilight Kin (KoW). Droids (Legion)

I have a friend who's not allowed to spend much money on hobby, etc. He made up laminated squares of the right size to play simple games against himself in order to learn the rules. When he comes here, we use my armies.

I was actually shocked to find that the individual heroes usually have as many "wounds" as an entire 10-man troop, and sometimes nearly the damage output!

I actually am having fun with 15mm gaming. Finding appropriate models is more of a chore, but I have found that I can buy a 2,000pt Dark Elf (for example) army for around 50 dollars(shipped, even) from the right companies, though I am finding a unique situation by changing the numbers involved in unit sizes. But still, around a buck a model even if scaling the numbers exactly with 28mm.

Plus, 15mm paints up so much faster than 28mm.

On the plus side Mantics Army Sets are usually about a thousand points. Not a terribly efficient thousand points, but a very good base to work off of. Also their only 85$ american. So as far as Tabletop Wargames go its very cheap.

Though the cardboard test run is a great suggestion.

You can get a good distance spreading out the minis as diorama bases too.
