The Warp

Please excuse my ignorance as I've been out the game for a while.

Recently I acquired the models to make a screamer council for my daemons army. Now I realise bCk in 6th ed a combo of divination couples with I flickering fire was good to take. However, what table will it be prudent to roll on first now? I intend to take 3 heralds (also using Belakor instead of Kairos) and an extra invisibility would be good, but would also like to roll for a inv save buff whilst still getting the potential for summoning and flickering fire.

I realise this is a fairly noob question, though looking to take this to a GT would be good to get some pointers in what I should prioritise rolling for first.

Malefic is the only table you roll on now. It has +1 Invul from Cursed Earth, all of your conjuration powers and you get flicker fire for free from Chaos Focus

Yep Malefic is the one to start rolling on for sure, with Cursed Earth being the initial power to fish for to give you the +1 inv option that the screamerstar needs. Once you've got that and you're happy with the amount of conjuration and witchfires they have you can consider some rollson another table.

Keep in mind that you may only attempt to cast the same power once per unit, so no more having each herald fire off a 4d6 flikering fire each. It also means if you fail Cursed Earth (surprisingly easy, even on 4 dice), having a backup in Forewarning is nice.

Screamer star isn't really a screamer star without Fatey. Find the points to take Belakor and 10 cultists as a CSM ally and you can have Fatey, up to 4 heralds and Belly plus your star. That way, Belakor can give those Screamers (and Fateweaver) shrouded, invis another unit and the grimoure can go on a unit of plague drones.
