Didn't know if this would be better in another section. I enjoying modelling and converting and needed some advice.

I am not a fan of the Devestator Centurion models, and want some feed back on my three options;

1. Buy some of the forgeworld Mechanicus Myrmidon squad? Are they similar in dimensions to the Centurions, base size and model height?

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Mechanicum-Myrmidon-Destructors

2. Buy some of the Ad Mech Kastelan robots? They only have two in the box so that is a problem. They have the same base size as the Centurions, but are they too big, similar to a dreadnought maybe?

http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Kastelan-Robots

3. Just convert some small two man teams to represent Devestator Centurions? (I saw another blog that I can find now of a guy who converted something similar for his Night Lords army)

Any other ideas welcomed.

IIRC Myrmidons should be ok for size

Kastelan would be way too big.

Another option is tech marines riding

Adeptus Mechanicus Kataphron Battle Servitors

Ultimately you should ask your local and or TO if you intend on playing them. (most reasonable people wont care )

Thank you for the reply, saved me some disappointment in a future purchase.

Well, I did not like the Centurions initially, a "simple" fix makes them better.
Just hack-up the crotch-guard: remove the middle plate and shave flat and glue the side plates on the tops of the legs:

Makes their legs look a bit longer and they now look like they could walk.
If I was to do anything different I may cut the between the legs "toes" since they look like they really get in the way.
I must admit that having hands is rather useless with the under-slung guns.
The detail on the back of them looks cool with the tube frame: it looks like something a marine can step into and get going in a minute.

^That actually looks pretty neat! Might have to keep that in mind if I start a vanilla Marines army can get some Cents.

Don't believe me? It's all in the numbers.
Number 1: That's terror.
Number 2: That's terror.
Dark Angels/Angels of Vengeance combo - ???? - Input wanted!

Thank you all for the replies. The Centurions are still too static for me. Besides I want my chapter to have rare/slightly heretical tech.

This is off topic, but...how much is too much for some un-primed/painted used Myrmidons with conversion beavers? I'm thinking no more than $25? Not a big deal just weighing my options.
