my cadians need bases. They are just regular cadians, green and khaki, I won't bother putting up a pic as everyone knows how they look, and if you don't, I have a few pictures in my gallery.

I am unsure of how to do so however. I am thinking the stirland mud technical paint with an agrax earthshade wash and some GW grass flock.

I would LIKE to use technical paints as the army is already painted (at least most of it), so I could just put that onto the base, add some other stuff and be done.

I would really appreciate some help as I wan't to base them, but I am unsure how to go about doing so.

Grey Urban base- paint base grey, attach some bits/pieces of sprue painted metallic
Red Desert- Martian Ironearth or Blackfire earth
Snow- paint base grey or brown, add a mix of baking soda and PVA glue
Ship interior- paint base silver, add rust effects, paint on numbers/hazard stripes
Hope one of those options works!

huh.

Im not interested in the red desert as I really don't care for the idea of mars being a big player in the forty first millennium

My DE are already snow, and I want my guard to be a different type of army.

I might try the urban base idea. It seems promising enough. Is there a way I can integrate the texture paints or some other form of 3d colour onto it, as a plain grey seems quite boring.

You can also do mud with some paint and flour. Get some brown craft paint, add flour and brush on base with an old brush. Drybrush with a lighter brown if you like. Don't worry about getting some on the mini, he is bound to get some mud on his boots and stuff.
