When I was about 3 we had a local arcade. I used to pay 20 cents to play games exactly like this and while they were fun almost 20 years ago I think today's standards have moved beyond this.
This game looks like a re-skinned arcade game. Like most GW games... disappointing.

You say that as it most video games, and tabletop games for that matter, aren't just re-skinned versions of each other.
I can't really speak too much about the gameplay, but the art looks very well done. The ship interiors look suitably ornate, dark, and gothic. And they had access to original GW mini designs since the cultist with the heavy stubber looks pretty dead-on. Heck, they even used a FW Nurgle Ogryn as the first boss battle. That's pretty cool.
He mentioned that one of the playable Inquisitors would be female. It would be interesting if they took the opportunity to flesh-out Valeria from the 5th Edition GK 'dex. I always thought it was a shame that they didn't make a mini for her.

No...
The best games I have played tend to have mechanics that separate it from other games, not merely reskins. Same with wargames. Wargames that have alternate army building systems, varying mechanics or differing combat styles are certainly not mere reskins of other wargames.
Now games don't have to be amazingly different, but they should have a vision which includes some originality in game mechanics.
The only GW video/computer games that aren't reskins of better games are Shadow of the Horned Rat, Dark Omen and the Space Hulk adaptations.
AFAIK the Space Hulk games use the mechanics of... Space Hulk. The two 90s FB games could have established their own genre if they had been successful. They can be vaguely classified as RTS games but the combat engine more closely resembles the Total War games which came out later.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also forgot: the computer game adaptation of Hero Quest. Which is just another computerized version of a board game.

Unless they take what they've got, throw it in the garbage can and start from scratch I don't see how this "work in progress" can end up as anything other than a Diablo clone. Because judging from the video, that's exactly what they've been making so far.
Automatically Appended Next Post: not that Diablo clones are necessarily a bad thing, I just wish people would stop labeling them as RPGs when they're action-adventures with hack-and-slash gameplay that depends heavily on reflexes.
Capcom used to put out D&D arcade beat 'em ups in the Mystara setting. You could gain levels and gather equipment and items, but nobody labeled them as RPGs because they were beat 'em ups. Diablo and its ilk descended from Gauntlet and similar co-op hack and slash arcade games.

I guess I'm just getting desensitized to the whole 'pretend killing' theme most video and tabletop games fall into...
