So all your points are correct, with regards to overwatch, a unit can only overwatch once per turn, so by attempting to charge if he elects to overwatch (why wouldn't he, as if he doesn't and you make the charge then hes B2B and can't overwatch) then he uses that overwatch up on your 30 point model.
Killpoints would be a sucky mission to get, but not impossible, as ignoring your army to get the "free" points would potentially leave him open to the rest of your force, however like Orock said, its still going to be a significant disadvantage.
Personally, I bring 2-3 solo koptas. That generally gives you enough ability to get to the objectives you either need/want to contest. Plus it also doesn't give away too many free points. I generally outflank, as it means the turn you arrive you can be backfield their side for any hard to reach objectives. Yes you can reach them by flatout but you leave your model open to First Blood and generally just getting destroyed.
Another use;
Charge blocking. In my game Friday I had a Swarmlord who was eying up a squadron of vehicles I had and potentially was going to make the charge. So I moved a kopta in front of him forcing him to either go around (which meant there really wasn't any chance in hell of getting off the charge - didn't bother checking the range in the end). Or he could assault my kopta and leave himself open to another round of shooting.
They were very effective imo. I paid 70 points for em, they scored 2 VP's, killed the last zoanthrope and generally made nuisances of themselves. they survived all game too, as with a Big MC list he really didn't have time to waste killing 30 point models.
