I have just started playing Infinity and i picked up a set of Knights of Santiago because they look awesome. i subsequently ordered the starter box. in about a month and a half we are going to be starting a new escalation league and tutorial campaign to basically teach the community how to play the game. My question is, as i am coming from 40k and having trouble switching mindsets, would those 10 models be sufficient for this level of play. I understand that for some missions i need specialists, and my order sergeants can be up graded to a hacker, i can bring a doctor in the form of a hospitilar (the knights were assembled so as to look generic, and i will do this with the starter box knights as well. the weapons will be specific to order, but there isn't much i can do about that.). I will eventually have to order the engineer and auxbot blister for an engineer, but what else should i add. I was considering a group of fusiliers so I could run a LI troop heavy list instead of a HI knight list depending on situation and mission type. Any and all advice will be appreciated as i am very new to the game ( I have ready the rules and played through the intro missions in the starter box set.

For MO, 10 is plenty.
Even in 3rd edition, you will rarely use more than 5-6 knights - as they ARE expensive (points wise).

For missions, specialists are probably a necessity (unless you play annihilation a lot - the official "kill 'em all" mission). Order sgts are your go-to for those. Indeed, outside of a couple of specific HI hackers/Doctors, they should be your specialist workforce.

Engineers in PanO (all sectorials and vanilla) DON'T use "auxbots" btw, they use PALbots (there IS a difference - Palbots DON'T have heavy flamethrowers).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Father Knight as a Hacker is my favorite of the HI specialists. He's exceptionally durable so he can get to and hold consoles and the like.

Hello there!

My recommendation:

Military Orders
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

Group 1 10 0 0
KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (38)
KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO Combi Rifle, E/M Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (40)
KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (38)
KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO Spitfire, E/M Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (1.5 | 45)
JOAN OF ARC Lieutenant MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, DA CCW. (+1 | 50)
ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (13)
ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (13)
ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (13)
CRUSADER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (26)
ORDER SERGEANT MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 21)

So... mixing this box that you already have:

With this other box that you have ordered:

Include this guy:

Allow me to recommend you this figure:

This is the limited edition figure of Joan of Arc. It comes with the official Paijting Book by Angel Giraldez, wich is pretty awesome.
It is rumored that at some point CB will deliver an alternate normal release of a Joan of Arc miniature, but until then this is the best available option.

So...
You will make a fireteam with Joan and the 4 Santiago Knights. They will move together as an indestructible squad. That will be demolishing.
You will have 3 order sergeants as line troops and a 4th Order Sergeant as your ARO Troop equiped with Sniper Rifle.
The Crusader Brethren will be your hidden para trooper, ready to be deployed when you decide and kill enemies where your troops cannot reach without risking themselves.

That would be a fine list for annihilation battles.

@Adurot I have thought about the Father Knight, but the model is sort of hard to come by as it is only in the ice storm kit. How permissible is proxying in the sense that I take a model and paint it up like a father knight, call him a father knight, and he ostensibly is modeled with equipment that a father knight could use, would that be permissible or would i have to hunt down an actual figure?

@bobbafett
I really like your idea, and I am going to adapt it because it sounds solid.
I was originally going to look at something a little more like this:

Military Orders
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

Group 1 10 0 4
DE FERSEN Hacker (Hacking Device) Lieutenant Spitfire / Pistol, Templar CCW (AP + Shock). (2 | 60)
KNIGHT HOSPITALLER Doctor (MediKit) MULTI Rifle / Pistol, AP CCW. (41)
SPEC. SERGEANT (CH: TO Camouflage, Infiltration) MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 33)
ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (13)
ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (13)
ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (13)
MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, EXP CCW. (25)
MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, EXP CCW. (25)
MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, EXP CCW. (25)
MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, EXP CCW. (25)

The idea is, like you said, have the order sergeants be my cheerleader units with the option of linking them. The spec sgt. The magister knights walk up the field with their dodge of 17 and eat something in close combat to take an objective. The DeFersen is the hacker/ lieutenant ( i am including him primarily because I like the model, I’m not actually sure if he is good as several people have told me he isn’t worth the points.) link him with the hospitaller doctor to do specialist things ( this I the kink in my plan as I’m not sure what linking these two would do or how it would benefit me). I really have no interest in the painting guide so I may have trouble getting the Joan of arc figure. Thematically I liked the look of this list, but it may be total crap. What do you think?
