I think this list has the potential to be pretty competitive. Lots of targets all immune to anything below S5. Plus 12 units outflanking on turn one. I really want to be able to take sanctuary on the warlord but I cant find the extra five points I neet without dropping a missile pod. Thoughts?

I would like to see Sanctuary on the Warlord it is just too good to pass up. Also I'd have thought one of the CC oriented Knights would gain more benefit. Drop some serpentas to pay for it they really aren't worth it.

There is only one serpenta and the only reason its there is because I couldn't come up with the extra 5 points I needed for sanctuary without either losing an entire formation of caveliers or the missile pod on the paladin. I could take out the serpenta and add a meltagun to a knight and upgrade the thermal cannon on the Warlord.But I can't figure out how to gain the points I need for sanctuary. My question is, is it worth it to drop the missile pod.

15 points for 2 Ion Shield facings? Hells yes it is worth it before you even consider it also gives you a 6+ in the other facings.

I could do something like this that would Allow for Sanctuary.

For the Crusader the battlecannon fits better than the melta so swap those upgrades. Otherwise looks solid. Loads of MSU and any S4 or below is completely wasted.

About the only real downside that I can find is that it pretty much guarantees giving up first blood if you dont get first turn, but that's really a small price to pay.

Why do you give up first blood if you go 2nd? Gicen that they have to kill an Imperial Knight this is one of the best lists out there for not giving up FB.

You're right, on second thought, it'd be better to go second as you'd deny them first turn shooting on the skitarii. Still, once theyre on the board it's not too difficult to off one. They only have to kill one dragoon or balistarii. An all around AV11 2 hp vehicle. It's really not that hard of a thing to do if you're trying.

I'd just have to concentrate on clearing a unit first turn if possible.

If 3 Knights can't kill a unit turn 1 you're probably in trouble anyway...

I know it's a spammy list, but is it too spammy? Also, Im trying to shake out some weaknesses in the list. Any thoughts on what could be a strong counter to it? I'm thinking melts spam in an MSU army would reallybe bad.

As far as Knights go you're pretty strong vs MSU with 15 individual units and the ability to fire at 19 separate targets, plus stomps and you deny melta efficiency as Knights have the invun and they're overkilling Dragoons.

Very true, though probably not 19 targets since the dragoons don't shoot. Not that they need to. I think this is what Im going to try out. I switched the thermal out for the battle and downgraded the stormspear on the paladin to an irontstorm. I know they're not great but I had 30 points at it was either that or 3 serpentas for the dragoons.

Yeah good point you can easily attack 19 different targets in a turn. Against for instance gladius you could conceivably kill all their Razorbacks on turn 2 alone as Dragoons ruin a Razor each before you even consider the Ballistarii and Knights...

I like it though looks really good overall.

The thing I keep thinking of is just the Knights walking forward with all of the ironstriders just running past them and weaving around them. Kinda like that scene in jurassic park with all the Gallimimus(i?) running through the fields and around and under the brontosauri.
