the necrons are against a cheesy army, but they can pull through. i would use a different list here but it works.

I would instead elect to drop skyhammer on T2, the units you have on the skyshield would have help up fine until then. This way you would have saved your skyhammer from the deathmarks. The necrons would have been further up the board, allowing skyhammer to drop in closer to your broadsides and any deathmarks that come down on the necron's turn or chasing your reserves would have been eaten by the EWO.

I aren't think that.

Sheit,
Skyhammer dropping on T1 got me first blood.
There is no way to save the skyhammer from the deathmarks because they drop on MY movement phase with MY deepstrike reserves and shoot before my shooting phase. Turn 1 or 2 wouldn't matter.
Skyhammer = First blood.
Deathmarks = Hard Counter for Skyhammer.
Furthermore, I can't intercept deathmarks with EWO on MY turn. You can only intercept on the ENEMY'S turn.
Deathmarks will be in most good Necron lists for anti meta in my opinion. They are spacemarines WS, BS, S, T = 4 with 3+ Armor and 4+ FNP(if decurion).
Thanks for watching though!

Right but if you go second, necron turn 2 has to roll for them to come on the table regardless, so on average 2 of the 3 of them will have to DS on via reserve rolls am I mistaken?
also I'm sure you could pour 24 str 7 TL TH shots into one of the skimmers on T1 and still have first blood. you weren't going to lose any units on that platform

One way to deal with deathmarks is to wait for some of them to come in via reserves on the necron turn, it's true, but only works out some of the time.

Deathmarks are kinda funky. They can choose to arrive in the enemy movement phase and I don't know if interceptor works in the friendly movement phase or if it just happens whenever an enemy unit arrives from deepstrike.
While this ability makes them powerful to be sure there are a few things to keep in mind.
They can't move after they shoot so they are stuck in tight formation until the following friendly movement phase. This leaves them super vunerable to blast weapons.
They don't get access to any way to reduce scatter but also want to be in rapid fire range so very risky/likely to misshap.
Just a quick pro cons. Personally I don't think they outshine other units in the codex such as wraiths, tomb blades, flayed ones, ect. The best thing I can think they can do is kill wraithknights since they wound on a 2+ regardless of enemy toughness. Automatically Appended Next Post: And nightsythes and doomsythes are pretty garbadge now...I don't see them as competitive units anymore.

@Sheit and ibushi. I see your point. Thanks that is certainly something to consider in the future. Not entiely sold on it, but thats the type of tactical thinking I am trying to develop. Cool idea.
@Epartalis. Why is the flying french bakery garbage? Seems purdy good to me? And tomb blades are good why again? I kinda thought they seemed like Decurion tax. Do you have any suggestions for my team mate that i could pass on to her?

Sure I have some suggestions and I'll address why I don't think the flying bakery is what it used to be. And why I think tomb blades are good. If a decurion has a tax it is the immortals. Anyway on to how I think you can overcome this necron.
First why is the night sythe and doom sythe no longer an uber competitive unit. Well the simple answer is because they got more expensive(doom sythe lost 5 points but also the death ray is way worse) and other things got cheaper and better. Tesla also got a big nerf this codex as it no longer helps with snap shooting. The death ray used to be the best weapon I could think of late 5th early 6th edtion before sD started to be common place with the introduction of Knights. The best and maybe most unfair thing about it was the wording which let you extend the line "up to 3d6 inches away" which made this weapon the only thing that could fire into an ongoing melee fight as well as not scattering. But now just a small blast... There are better options for Necrons now. Multiple harvests or even just wraith spam with double cad, destroyer cults, even justicar battalions are all reasonably competitive to strongly comeptitive. If you are looking for an air superiority fighter there are also better options.
She has 5 flyers, which is significant target saturation for your firebase support cadre. I don't like running this formation outside of running a full tau list because you can't use markers but that's more personal preference.
Tomb blades, where to start. Well first and foremost they are the necrons only way to gain ignores cover(and for a bargain price). Addtionally they are t5 and super mobile, something the decurion can struggle with. I like particle beamers, neb scopes and sheild vanes, but I have heard the argument for the gauss. Anyway they are amazing, you just fought an army that doesn't empesize them at all.
How to beat it? Well your current list seems like you took the most power formations from all the different races and threw them in a list. That and the Deathmarks seem like they are annoying for the skyhammer.
Let's start with tactics. I don't like skyhammer, especially decurion necrons. You split your army and jump right into rapid fire range. No homing beacon? Even without one you want to use that strike to kill key targets, in this case maybe the bargelord and ghost archs...maybe the Deathmarks if they can hurt the wraithknight. There was a skyfire nexus in mid feild, would have thought your scat bikes could have used that to fire at some doom sythes. You had objective secured on those fast bikes and she doesn't on any units so you could have done better there in terms of denying her. Letting the wraithknight die was kinda the game for you. That is your bullet magnet and it killed the bargelord, but it also could easily have killed the ghost arch and secured the middle. Your assualt marine Automatically Appended Next Post: Sorry typing on my phone...your assualt marines could/should be buffed to 10 man units with maybe a melta bomb or something. Necrons can't hold up to assualt, loosing combat and getting overrun specifically. Their initiative is their weakness so Attack that. Counter assualting the Deathmarks was a good call but it seemed like you couldn't get through the unit to get to the next one. Everyone is scared of grav but for necrons not that scary. Maybe double down on the melta to try to pop those archs. They are open topped and the quantum sheild goes down after the first successful penetration, she'll have to fail a jink there. When they explode they could pin and damage the crons inside so extra points there. They're just expensive ork trucks, and their hull points aren't worth jack if they fail a jink on melta.
One last thing. Necrons have no pyskers. And the only defence they have, the gloom prism is drastically underpowered to counter any real threat. Why not try to exploit this with some eldar stuff. Fortune and prescience could help a good deal, buffing that wraithknight is just mean. Invisible wraithknights, no thank you...

@Epartalis. Thanks for all that. I will pass that on to her. The particle beamer seems a little pricey to me. But I'll,suggest it nonetheless. I kinda felt like the Tesla Destructors wrecked face on the fliers. Immortals were weak, but tied me up. The eldar JBs in the report only had shuriken catapults (i know i know but i needed the points). The reason they werent denying objectives was because I played them sooooo poorly and got all 3 units locked in combat with 2 immortals under the skyshield. Ugh. Genius move there. Although I would like to increase the assault squads to 10 and give them some more punch, i dont have the points. This is playtesting for a TAC tourney list. So, I had to neuter the skyhammer and the scat bikes to shoe horn in the knight. Minimal wiggle room. I think homing beacons are a good idea though. I mishapped 3 times i think. Thanks bro.

Yea no problem. I think you'd be better off going in one direction or maybe drop one of the allies and just concentrate on a two detachment situation though I can see the dilema on what to drop as its all so good!!!
If I had to choose though, and much as it pains me to say it as a devours servant for the greater good, I would drop the firebase support cadre and the skysheild. You didn't shoot down a single flyer in the game I watched and though your list is capable of shooting down one or two not five. And that formation is way better with marker support which you lack and don't have points for. So drop it. Beef up your skyhammer to be more durable and get some eldar pyskers in there to use invisibility and fortune, maybe prescience. I don't do much pysker stuff as I play mainly tau and necrons so maybe better powers for what you want but those are some that are particularly frustrating for me to face. Automatically Appended Next Post: To be fair to you also a lot of things went her way in this game and you had some tactical brain farts as I like to call them. Happens to us all no worries. For instance the fact that her reserves came in, all 5 flyers, on turn 2 was really good(maybe she missed one) without a coms relay. As mentioned the wraithknight and the combat with the immortals under the pad. So maybe run the list against many more challengers and see how you fair. If the list keeps loosing make some changes. If you as a general get more used to playing it and it's starts to win keep it as is. Good luck and happy wargaming

lol well then nevermind. I misread the part where you were looking for suggestion for your TEAMATE to pass her, not you team...sorry about the confusion. What is your teamate running? I have played tau and Necrons for a while. I might be able to actually help instead of criticizing a game you already won. Damn my bad reading brain, good at math bad at reading...

The current ones have 4 point primary, 4 point maelstrom, and different tertiaries based on the mission. (Always 2 that both players can get and one mutually exclusive one.)
I think it's been that way since like...May?
