It's a very serious question does the imperial guard, or highlords of terra brush their teeth, because if they don't their breath must be terrible. I never really though about it until recently. Now it's just a random question I don't think their is an answer to.

When the space marines were conquering new worlds there had to be atleast one world a space marines was telling the populace remember to brush your teeth 3 times a day, or the emperor will get mad.

Yes, or at least they use whatever tech they have to keep their teeth clean.

Believe it or not, but dental health is pretty serious stuff and as such we have a lot of ways of healing problems there. However, we've found corpses where the cause of death was the result of head rot and more caused by dental issues.

I'll pluck you like a flower.

A massive influx of healthy teeth could be covertly introduced to destabilise the Ork economy, potentially crippling them for the final victory of Mankind over the fungus. I like your style dude.

I assume servo skulls come puttering by with brushes sticking out of their mouths. They float up to your head, brush your teeth for you, and move on to the next guy.

Nah, the drinking water is pumped full of Floridamantium, a substance that makes the teeth impervious to any kind of wear/infection. It has a few noted side effects such as *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* and *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* while *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* or *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* *REDACTED* but them such sacrifices must be made in the name of the Throne.

Dental care dates back centuries in one form or another. It's not an invention of the 20th century.

Given that there is medical tech allowing normal humans to live for multiple centuries, I would say its very safe to say that they brush their teeth and have dental care.

This will not be true across all worlds of course.

I'm sure the imperium manufactures self re-implanting bioteeth. Just touch one to your gums, and then scream in agony for 30 seconds as it re-sockets itself.

I am aware, but their is no way all of the worlds before the emperor conjured them had access to anything to clean their teeth and I am sure that the space marines that took a few planets did not tell the populace to brush their teeth three times a day. I have never heard of a space marine brushing his teeth. I am thinking that their is a new form of dental hygiene than brushing your teeth.

Space marine teeth are probably ultra hardened and stuff from there transformation process anyway.

And im sure spacesharks just grow them back

Its entirely possible that some areas might regress horribly to dark age hygiene levels. depending on the circumstances but overall there would of been no reason to for the rest of humanity

I would bet Space Marines still have to brush their teeth. Probably not as much as we do. Maybe they can get away with only having a yearly cleaning to remove plaque.

They'll definitely have to still bathe, no reason they wouldn't also need to brush their teeth.

Dental care might be more important for them. They live way longer than normal humans do. Maybe the Emperor even programmed them to grow more sets of teeth as they wear down?

do they even eat? think on this they may not even need to use their teeth like we do, furthermore most common tooth ailments occured with the introduction of sugar, sugar might have been removed from their diet, as to bad breath you gonna tell a 10' high guy who could chew nails and spit out tacks his breath stinks?

Yes, they eat. Quite a lot actually. Their caloric needs would be immense.

And while sugar definitely was not a positive thing for dental hygiene, dental health prior to modern dental care was atrocious. You were lucky to have much of any teeth past 40, and everyone basically lived with dental pain. Occasionally they might pull a tooth to relieve pain. But not brushing is very bad news for your teeth, no matter your diet.

On campaign, marines eat paste that is highly calorie dense. But off that, they'll eat normal food. Well, maybe not normal. They'd have a diet that would be very high in fat and protein, and some carbs which we would find inedible.

Many chapters are known for having feasts and such to mark victories and other special occasions. and everyone knows the Space Wolves love to party.

So you'd have meat and stuff, but it would be very very fatty. Their bread would be thick, almost like cardboard, as they can digest cellulose. Very rich food that would probably put a human into a food coma. Plus they'd have vitamin supplements necessary for their bodies.

You're probably talking 10,000+ calories a day.
