So I'm wanting to get some spawns, about 5-6 or so but at £22 for 2 I was thinking, because I have a few tyranid warrior and carnifex bits if I could convert them with spawn heads and a few spawn bits will they pass for a playable model

You'd have to cover or remove the chitinous plating on their backs. Bit of Green Stuff and I think they'll do fine.

Blobs of greenstuff with guardsmen parts mixed in.

Vampire counts vargeists or crypt ghouls also are great conversion bases if you combine them with the actual spawn kits.

I use Dire Wolves and nobody has ever questioned it. Being generous with LOS makes it an easy sell.

I went to the dollar store. Bought a bunch of toys that had the same bases for Terminators and Spawns.

I added additional apendages and then prined them white and colored them pale pascal colors. Proxied spawns done cheap.
