Here are a few Legion of the Damned space marines I did for a client a little while back.

They didn't go with the LotD force that I painted previously (two different clients) and as such, I took the opportunity to paint them in a very different style. They're much cleaner than the other LotD I've done.

They're nice. I do like the current models, with the sculpted bones and flames, but I admit to having a soft spot for the older style where it was all just painted on.

very nicely painted, however, I still like the finecast kits overall motif.

Very tidy. I especially like the plasma gun.

I guess current is relative- I'm pretty sure those kits came out in the latter part of the 2nd edition when Legion of the Damned got its very own army list (printed in White Dwarf, just like the old Necrons).

I'm a little surprised how much it changes the aesthetic to have the details painted on or sculpted on. Honestly, I'm a fan of doing freehand, so the painted detailing appeals to me, but there's something a little more raw and visceral about the sculpted detailing.
