Wildriders (Cavalry) 75 points 5 Wildriders Wildriders WS 4 BS 2 S3 T4 W2 I2 A2 L7 Sv 4+ Wildrider Boss Nob WS 4 BS 2 S4 T4 W3 I3 A3 L7 Sv 4+ Special Rules Furious Charge 'ere We Go Mob Rule Scout Move Through Cover Wargear 'eavy Armor Slugga Choppa Stikkbombs Hell-Beast (+1 Wound) Options: May include up to 10 additional Wildriders at 15 points/model All models in the Unit may have Thuddbombs for +1 point/model All models in the Unit may exchange their Sluggas and Choppas for a Shoota for free One Wildrider may be upgraded to a Boss Nob for 10 points The Boss Nob may take items from the Melee Weapons list The Boss Nob may take a Bosspole for 5 points. Thuddbombs: See Krak Grenades in the Warhammer 40,000 Main Rulebook. Wildriders are to the Snakebites what Warbikers are to everyone else, they are scouts and vanguard units. Mounted atop the most hostile creatures the Snakebites can wranlge, known universally as Hell-Beasts Wildriders charge in to the enemy lines firing their Shootas and holding on for dear life. Often times the rider is shot off the beast, this doesnt stop the foul tempered creature from ripping apart whoever it was charging. Im pretty happy with them, im just concerned about the pricing. Since they aren't gaining the +1 toughness but are gaining the +1 wound and don't get TL Dakka I would lower the price by 3-5 points each.

That much? I figured that Scout and Move Through Cover would mitigate this somewhat, so 15 points seems good?

Yeah, you have to remember that Ork Warbikers are actually one of the best Dakka units in the Ork arsenal, and these Wildriderz don't have guns so it throws that aspect completely out of the window.

Ok dropped them to 15 points, my goal with them was to make a rapid assault unit, so less shooty more punchy.

Have the default weapon be a slugga and can opt to switch to shootas. That way if you want them better at chopping then they can get the +1 attack.

which should be the rule for Orks in general. Apparently losing what amounts to 1 on attack on your profile isn't equivalent to gaining 1 extra S4AP6 shot at 18 inches. which btw has a 1/3rd chance of hitting where as the 1 attack in CC has a 50/50 9 times out of 10 and a 66% chance against weaker opponents.

Thing is, the Ork usually gets blended at I3+ before getting to swing. I'd say Shootas are better than choppas even in melee, because at least you get the crappy overwatch shots before you die.

Thudd bombs are basically crack grenades, its at the bottom of his post. I have to disagree with you on the CC thing though. Yeah they get to shoot during the overwatch but I would rather have 3-4 (depending on charge) S3-4 (Depending on charge) attacks per boy at I2 rather then 10-30 extra shots of S4 AP6 BS2 shots/overwatch.

Im the opposite, i love my Shootas, i just dont wanna pay for them  It was fine for 2 editions, but obviously GW doesnt listen to Red Green "If it aint broke dont fix it" And Ya Thuddbombs are Krak Grenades, swiped those from Heralds of Ruin's Kill Team  Italicized them for Emphasis

not really, but GW decided 7th would be the official Shooty Edition so they can't allow orks to have Shooty weapons without making them lose points to take them.

At leas t how GW sees it Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok i've made Nob Wildriders. I think they should be ok. The biggest things are:
1. Im not sure if 'unting Lances are ok as they are.
2. Im still trying to figure out what to replace Scout with, current thoughts are Monster Hunter, Hit and Run or Rage.
