Subject: potential commission on a Harlequin army (uk only)

Hi all,
A planned commission has fallen through, leaving me with an army I have no time and no desire to paint myself. So I'm on the lookout for someone can paint an army of harlequins with a diamond pattern (midnight sorrow) to very high table top standard. I've got one of each character in plastic, 3 boxes of troupes, 2 boxes of the jet bikes, and the voidweaver (so around1k). It won't happen until nov-Dec as that's when I will have the funds available, but if you are interested, pm me with either pics or a link to pics of what you can do (seeing some harles you have done would be a great help) and we will chat about it. Don't message me if you don't have a proven track record, or if you don't have a decent portfolio for me to see. I want a beautiful harlequin army, and would like to hear from commission painters who can produce one.
Many thanks
James

Expensive work. Harlequins are skill and time intensive.
I'd be looking at charging around £70 per infantry, and that's batching up.

That's exactly why I don't want to paint them myself. It's a small army, but I'm expecting to pay a fair amount for the quality I'm after.
Also, if you are a commission painter in Nottingham, there is a very good chance we have met in the past, as I used to work in the friar lane store up until a year ago.

If you're looking for someone in the UK, I'd suggest getting in touch with Dags (Jon Atter) who's on a few forums. He does a lot of painting for Ainsty Castings and Crooked Dice. Very clean aesthetic, very approachable bloke.
I'm not sure how often he takes on armies, but he's straight as a die about whether he can do the work or not.

Cheers buttery, I'll look him up.
@kb thanks for the suggestion. I've had a good look at the pics on the link, and not sure his style is right for me as they are quite gritty, and I am after very clean lines and sharp contrasts. You're a good man for putting him forward though, so thanks again.

If you can't find him, drop me a PM and I'll hook you up. We're friends so I'm not sure how common his contact info is, and didn't want to just dump it out here.

Just wanted to thank kb for the recommendation! While I agree with JamesY that the style/scheme he's looking for isn't something I'm best suited for, it I'm grateful that you suggested me!
Good luck finding someone, JamesY!

Hi,
I'd be interested in taking on this commission, although in smaller batches if possible. Here's my CMON with some of the models I've painted including a wraith guard in harlequin scheme: http://www.coolminiornot.com/375353
Email (omaclean@me.com) or PM here if you'd like to discuss this commission further.

Probably at some point, though I rarely go to the Friar Lane store - HQ is more convenient for free parking and having (usually) what I want available.
I think the last major thing I bought at Friar Lane would have been an RoB board...
