I really like it! The gold and red reminds me of the Minotaurs chapter. Your conversion of Pedro is solid.

Keep going

Will try!

Time for Tacticals!
Trying out a new way of painting to make it faster, Basicly its keeping everything you can on sprue (Bits fastned on surfaces thats gonna be painted? cut them off)

Starting some washes!

**The keen eye will see some freehanding on the rhino in the backround aswell

That Maltese Cross on the rhino is freehand?! Looks awesome!

Tactical Marines are a necessary evil. Not particularly enjoyable, but you need some.
I personally hate painting things on their sprue. I tried it, but cleaning mould lines is hard, and when you cut things off, where you cut isn't painted. I would much rather part build something, and paint than paint on sprues. But like all things it's down to personal preference. You got to try these things to if you want to find out your best/most efficient painting method.

Indeed! All i ended up doing while still on sprue was a black/grey base and a red undercoat.
Did not like it that much, Althou leaving the shoulderpads on sprue and paint them seperatly was amazing cosidering i loath painting white/ushabti with a brush..
And leaving them seperatley allowed me to go nuts with my airbrush and not having to be super careful/cover up the model simply to get a neat even white/ushabti on them!

Heres 2 pictures 1 with flash and 1 without, None of them shows them in their true glory but hell, iam no photographer either so.

*Will get a closeup on the cross after i clean it up a bit!

When starting theses Tac's i said to myself, iam gonna try a new method of painting, and iam gonna see how fast i can get these bad boys ready, and now there is mould lines taunting me whenever i look at pictures of them, Last time i do them like this again haha

Thanks alot! I Used Vallejo liquid gold - Old Gold,
Sparsley thinned with a swedish methylated spirit called (T-röd) Only 1 Coat applied over a base of Ushabti bone, The coat should be at that critical thickness where its just enought to not show the base colour, Althou Liquid gold has excellent covarage.
After that just the most subtle wash of agrax earthshade, Should almost see no difference, only that the gold gets "wet"
After that, Seal it, Althou i have not sealed anything on the models as of yet, Will do after they go thrue the final checkup. Cheers!

**The Sgt's Ornate shouldpad i used maybe three times as much wash.

Ps, Liquid Gold RULES

Iam having second thoughts about the colour scheme of my marines..

Iam torn between red shoulderpads and white icons, Skipping the "Bleached bone/white" Making them more blood angels with gold trim or red ultramarines i guess you could say.
And on the iconography, Having the ultramarine omega instead of the black templars cross... i dunno, I have alot of Ultramarine models and its so easy to get ahold of really cool looking equipement althou it all have either Blood angel och Ultramarine iconography all over them,
And iam frankly sick of having to scrape and modell over iconography, why not just embrace it?

One of the main points of the army aswell is a "Roman" theme with alot of helmet plymes and gladiuses etc, And Ultramarines seem to fit into that catagory really well, I have been finding bits i fall in love with only to look past them seeing how much Ultramarine iconography its on it.
My first army was a ultramarine army and i dont wanna paint smurfs again, iam commited to the red but whos to say i cant have red smurfs?

I wanna hear your opinion! What do you think i should do?

Another OT post! (Should name it "Cozzans paint thread instead" haha

Anyway, finally decided to make some terrain for my new gameboard!
For the persons who dont know, Iam very easily "zoned" when i do stuff and forgett about everything els..
But while i was waiting for glue to set i remembered to take some pics, And when i was done for the night so here come some pictures of it!

Its not done yet fyi!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
For people who wonder, The fence was built using:

1 Warhammer prospect
Some different sized steelwire
a really fine steel net
Pliers

The painting is:
Base - black
Heavy drybrush with a mix of Gold and a brown "For a "rustic feel"
Ontop of that is an uneven completely random drybrush of
Leadbelcher
And a liberal wash of Agrax earthshade ontop of that!
