There used to be a good group of people in Des Moines, Iowa that played 40k way back in 4th edition.

I'm wondering if anyone here in Des Moines or around Des Moines still plays? If so, Where and when? Me and a buddy are looking to get back into 40k but can't seem to find a group that plays anymore.

The two stores I know of with Warhammer 40k groups are Mayhem Comics, and Jay's CD and Hobby.

Monday nights at Mayhem is 40k night, though there are other games going on there too. Star Wars X-Wing, Magic, etc. Huge game room there with lots of terrain. The last time I was there on a Monday night there were at least 3 games of 40k going. Mayhem often has CCG tournaments on the weekends, so table space is at a premium sometimes on Saturday and Sunday.

Another local 40k group of 40k players meets up at Jay's CD and Hobby, and they host 40k events periodically. (Disclaimer: I haven't personally been over there, this is just what I've heard.)

I am moving into Des Moines in October! I am a SoCal Gamer, convention organizer, and Podcaster. I am the Host of Under the Hive of Madness (Which is a 40k Podcast.)

As this is a big move for me, I am also starting to look into what the Warhammer Scene is in Des Moines.

I'm in Iowa, about 95 miles North-West of Des Moines. I haven't played regularly in 10 years or so, only picking up the occasional game with a friend. I'm also keen on getting back into the swing of things with people in the area.
