I've tried playing with Dark elder for a couple of years now and, perhaps because I'm not a great player, I'm on a serious losing streak winning very few games. I've sold off a few better condition pieces in my collection but I'm left with poorly painted and in some cases poorly assembled miniatures that I feel really wouldn't sell well. I have a female Archon, six witches, 30 or so classic warriors and a raider. I'd love to find an alternate use for some of them, even if its only as a base for conversions and if they could form the nucleus of a new non-DE army that would be incredible, I'm happy to try my hand at a few conversions and my bits-box is fairly extensive, so any suggestions?
Thanks
Blofeld

I'm not sure what the old models look exactly like but i've always thought file off the spikes and they look like regular eldar.

or if not make a cool as diorama of them taking slaves :p

There is a rumour floating around that the FW Eldar corsair list is getting an update. Could use them as corsairs as they, as I understand, have access to DE vehicles and weaponry.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

You're really not interested in them as DE? If you are, those are a great force-multiplier allied detachment for CWE or Harlequins.

One guy who can take a WWP, some basic troops, and an open topped transport. That's a recipe for some poison support and deep striking something nasty.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Wyches can be filed down for Harlequins.

The archon and the raider could be allied into a CWE list to transport another unit. (A seer council or a group of Fire Dragons are my faves.)

Welcome to the Freakshow!

That's too bad, I hate to see people hang up an army. That said if your set on it then the suggestions already mentioned are all solid and will all pretty much increase your win rate.

Alternately I just came up with this basic concept if your down for some converting:

If you can't win with DE I'm not sure you would have it any easier with this one but it would at least be a change and a great modelling opportunity.

Heres where I started:

-Inquisition Death cult assassins. (the detachment is really friendly to include in an army)
-WFB dark elves ( or AoS if you are into that..)
-RPG miniatures
-Better looking eldar models
-Necromunda gang.
-Raider can be converted to an ork skimmer
-Paint them as statues and use them as terrain
-Convert them to deamonettes or other slanesh models
-Make plague zombies out of them.
-Use bits to pimp your radical inquisition or traitor legion army.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Really like the idea of "looted dark eldar", a bit like the looted Tyranids over on the Painting and Modelling board not so long ago, I've got a weird amount of Ork bits considering I've never played them
I've also looked into the corsair route and that may definitely be an option. Thanks oldzoogy for all the suggestions. The idea of Witches as inquisitors is certainly an interesting choice and I've got the codex e-book. Inquisition are a nice versatile force in many regards and maybe an Ordo Xenos went a little native...
Someone at the Games Club suggested Dark Mechanicus or Slaneesh troops with a load of trimmed down spare Stormcast heads in the Bits Box so that's certainly an option I'm interested in.
Thanks to everyone who's made suggestions so far and please keep 'em coming!
Thanks
