[user] I am going to buy a deamon prince and would like suggestions on how to wreak absolute chaos . The main army's I verse are space wolves (with Logan grimmer and terminator formation ) blood Angels ( 10 man sanguine guard and lots of Marines ) and tau so tanks and scary guns

Are you talking demons or CSM?

Arguably the best setup for a DP is a CSM prince of nurgle with wings, power armor and the black mace.

Doesn't come off cheap, but it has a 3+ armor / 2+ cover / 5++ save (remember gliding FMC's can still jink) even in the open, it is fast enough to go kill stuff and has an excellent melee output (lots of attacks, sick ini and Ws, being an MC adds smash for ap2 attacks with the mace. The Mace itself makes everyone uncomfortable as there is a chance (even against Toughness 6+ stuff) that they will just be removed from the game without a chance to save against it. It also means that your DP cannot be tarpitted by hormagants or other gribble equivalents because every time you strike, half of the unit will be dying in addition to your other attacks.

Mind you of course that you are T5 and you can get insta-killed by a smash attack from an opposing MC or a cover ignoring Rail gun shot. If you have spare points, get yourself some magic levels and go biomancy to skip this sad part.

I also like to play a lvl 3 DP from Black legion supplement with the last memory of yuranthos and a spell familiar. It drives the cost pretty high, but you can keep swooping with it, place it in a good position and fire a 3 WC last memory to obliterate all kinds of infantry in a huge radius. But Black mace one is clearly better.

Just coming in to echo what topaxygouron said. With the Black Mace build you're looking at a 250 point unit though so it is pretty pricey. If you want to make him a psyker (like I always do) he can get up to a whopping 355 points.

I have also come to echo. I used to run him along with a Lord of change.


There were two types of game, they would either die horribly first turn. Or they would own opposing armies by themselves. Black mace is no joke.

From personal experience from being on the receiving end of one, a daemon prince of Khorne with wings and axe of Blind Fury has been really brutal when charging my units.

However, I've learnt to just shoot it off the table before it can do anything. If it was me personally, I would run with a daemon prince with mark of Nurgle, wings and psychic powers. Not sure about melee weapon though. Nurgle seems to be one of the better marks for Chaos Space Marines.
