I've been tinkering around with Khorne Daemonkin. I'd love to run the Slaughtercult, but I can't figure out how to make the possessed work. Has anyone had any success and what do they do with this crappy unit?
Cheers,
BC

Personally, I would ally in a land raider or dreadclaw.
Failing that, cheap in a rhino.

Best success Ive had is just run them screened by the dogs with fleet they are pretty fast. Usually you can setup a second turn charge and if you roll 3 on their random result they are init 5 with 6 attacks each on the charge. (Strength 5 or 6 too I believe from furious charge)

Have you been keeping them to a minimum squad or increasing the squad size and/or putting them in a rhino to get a good first turn movement or protection?
Cheers,

I always leave them as a 5 man squad. They are a bad unit, and while they have some uses, I would never get more to fill the role they do have. But, it depends on the enemy. If you are playing against a Drop Pod marine list for example, keep them back and counter assault those Sternguard.
Generally though, I keep them in the backfield, waiting for late game where they can chew up damaged squads. They are a bully unit. Very bad at attacking full squads of marines, blobs of Guardsmen, and so on, but pretty decent at taking out hurt units that your opponent will be relying on to take objectives late game.
That's the theory at least. Sometimes, they don't do anything.

They are strong in close combat, but die like marines.
Put them in first floor, out of sight, when you have a lot of havocs above?
If you know your enemy plans to deepstrike, use them as guard.
Run them behind a rhino or something, and let someone else take the overwatch, then go in for the kill.
depending on points scale, 3+ can be reasonably survivable.
If your helbrute or forgefiend gets tarpitted, use them to help out.
I dont know, but maybe everyone thinks they do to little before they die, because everyone takes minimum squad?

I always run mine in a Rhino, usually as bodyguards for my footslogging Chaos Lord. They aren't too bad for this, but they do tend to be a little squishy. If they do survive long enough to get a charge in, they are very nasty. Just don't go and charge terminators or something. They actually can be decent for killing vehicles, as they can glance AV10 rear armor to death handily, especially with Furious Charge.

I haven't tried it but it might work to put them in reserves to come out for the last half of the game

For what purpose? They're an easy death to get Tithe points with.

How about putting them in cover, but visible, and then let your opponent think he is making good work at killing an expensive unit, while you run other stuff into his face.
And if he doesnt shoot them, you can run them in his face.
You would have to be careful the first and second round of shooting, unless you know he has something else to shoot with his infantry killing guns.
