I've been looking around the internet to find a decent storage and transportation solution for my Forest Spirit Warhost (3 Treemen, 32 dryads and a Branchwraith), but all the usual case makers (Feldherr, KR Multicases, Games Workshop, etc) don't really offer any good solutions for minis on 30mm bases. Also, these models have a lot of pointy bits, so they don't mix well with foam. I could fabricate something myself with magnetized bases, but I'm not sure I want to go down that route (mostly because finding the right magnets and other materials is a bit of a hassle).
So, I was wondering if anyone here has a good way to transport my army to the GW store. So, if anyone has any tips, I'd love to hear them!
This is my first post here, so I hope I put it in the right forum. If not, my apologies!

KR made some new inserts for the 32mm space marine bases, check those out.

I don't know if you have them where you are, but here in the states eggs come in cardboard cartons that are great for carrying infantry, you just need to find a decent box for the cartons. The treemen on the other hand... Don't have any ideas at the moment.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I went and bought a cheap 12"x24" frame from Target. A piece of sheet steel 28g from Lowes. Painted and framed the steel and use rare earth magnets to hold my empire army in place. One small magnet under each base, 3 for KF.
Bonus, it hangs on the wall above my table when not in use.

Look again at magnets IMHO.
Rare earth magnets are all over ebay. Once you have done it you will kick yourself for not doing it earlier.
I use biscuit tins and some modified cases for mine.
Huge fan of magnets!!!

+1 to facebookjunkie's method. I did something similar with my orcs.
All my dwarves and orcs have a single strong solid magent on their base, and their regiment base is a metal sheet (which then gets built up around the edges and flocked to look nice). They stick on really well. Then I just put the regiment sheet in an appropriate sized shoe box (on the lid, with the box placed on top of that), and set them all in another box.
They made several fine journeys to loot and pillage using this system! I also had a couple extra padded boxes that I put things like my giant or warmachines in, since they don't really work the same way. it saves a lot of time on setup as well, since I can just plop the whole regiment down rather than having to put it back together one orc at a time. Which really sucks when you have 100 orcs and several hundred goblins. . . .
If you're playing AoS this works too, you just gotta take them off the regiment base when you get there I guess.
