Seen this floating about on a few 40k news/rumors sites but yet to see it posted here.
Though its still 50 bucks more than the standard, It being dropped by 25 in Australia is a good sign at least. Not sure on the original NZ price.
Not to rag on GW too much but has there ever been a case of them lowering prices before?

Must have sold terribly for them to lower it by 30 bucks.
First time I have ever seen this. Needs to go down to 150 though.

Cool. Now they just need to drop it by another $100 and it'll start approaching a reasonable price.

That's the thing. At $100 i would probably buy one (if i was still playing and wanted one for my hypothetical army). At $200 or $225, it's just not going to happen for a bloodthirster-sized model. At that level of price, who cares about $25? They could drop the price to $199.99 and i'd still think it was mental.

Completely agree,
If this was at the 100 mark I'd think of it as an awesome centre piece to pull out for my family at Xmas time... But yeah unless it's a price drop of 20% it's more like a price correction because it's not selling.

This. So much.
GW pretty much use AUS/NZ as guinea pigs to see how much they can milk us, before applying it to the rest of the world in similar-sized models.
They probably had next to no one pre-ordering Skarbrand at that horrible, horrible price.
But I bet they'll try it again with the Stormsurge. Just watch them.

Then you haven't paid attention.
The Skaven Plague Censer Bearers were priced at an absurdly high price and then had their prices dropped.
Not because nobody was buying, but because it was an error.

It's cheap because it can't compare to other models of the same points value or even 300 points less. People probably dont buy it. I havent.

I did a quick XE conversion today and that NZ price equals about €172. The SS is €120 over here in Ireland.
Where is the extra 52 quid being tagged on?

Raids from the dark powers mean GW has to pay mercs for delivery protection here. This makes their models more premium. Apparently the Nazgul claimed 21 Auckland lives last month alone with the loss of 5 Cadian Troop Boxes and one Librarian kit.
Losses like that need to be replaced through our wallets.
Apparently they love GW games in the Eye of Sauron Tower and for that we have to suffer.

Seriously? Shipping. That's the point.
Looking at ebay, if I'm buying a $10 40k item from Australia, shipping is $5. If I'm buying a $100 item, its between $50 and $75 more for shipping.
GW is putting the same shipping markup on 40k items that ANZAC players are putting on their own items... not sure if you're all aware of the level of hypocrisy here... or the lack of understanding the basic economic reality of where you live.

Its always been cheaper to buy internationally and pay for overseas shipping. And that's without the luxury of being able to pay bulk rates. Face it, shipping isn't the reason. The basic economic reality of where i live is that gw gouges us here, there's no hypocrisy about it.

Yeah saying shipping costs is the mark up is bs, otherwise Vegemite would cost $50 in the USA... The amount that gw ships to Australia would be huge and the shipping negligible. You fill a shipping container full of miniatures and say $8000 in shipping. I think $1 each wouldn't be unreasonable...

Right, moving tons, via water, across half the globe, doesn't create a mark up.
Never let facts stop a good martyr complex. So then you tell me
Why are Australia and New Zealand the two most expensive places to live? That's according to the 2015 Duetsche Bank World Index? For most other list toppers (Japan, Hong Kong) it's real estate demand and high price imports. Which one do you see being relevant to ANZAC? And why if almost everything else is more expensive (you don't get to top that list otherwise), do you think GW products would be exempt?

Oh I get that it creates a mark up but I could send a shipping container from here to the UK for around $9000 and I can only guess how much you could fit in one of those. I'd dare say with the amount gw send their cost would be lower than that. As I've said there are websites selling for 21.5% off gw prices and they would still be making a profit, and selling less than Gw.
