Crushing Black Templar Crusader Pilot

Hi Dakkadakka

I was wondering if anyone knew of any Imperial Fist companies that have been canonically wiped out? I'm painting some Black Templars, and currently I'm doing some relic hunters - I decided that as sons of Dorn, the BT would be interested in and Imperial Fist relics, and was wondering if there are any Imperial Fist companies or squads that had suffered a catastrophic defeat, ideally leaving no survivors?
If not, are there any Imperial Fist companies or squads that are famous for being super-duper hardcore?
The thing is, waaaay back, I bought the Crimson/Imperial Fists upgrade pack, and decided to incorporate the banner into the bases of one of my relic hunting marines, and wanted to paint it up fittingly.

Thanks for any help! Hopefully I'll be able to show off the end result soon(ish. Maybe. Don't hold your breath.)

Storm of iron one took massive casualties, I mean like maybe one sqaud was left in the tunder hawk but all deployed to fight at the fortress died in the raid on the trench line, the mines or the battles for the citidel.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Hi posermcbogus,

I'll leave the IF lore to their players!

But...I realize you said Imperial Fists - with the understood relic hunter interest in stuff from the Founding Chapter, but for Crimson Fists, BT had a campaign together http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Declates_Crusade to kill some orks.

Then in the build up to the Rynn's World incident, nearly an entire company of CF got killed by Orks and their bodies were left on Badlanding. I believe the 3rd Company Captain's body was left, but someone correct me on that if wrong.

There were survivors that got back to Rynn's World - but to my knowledge Badlanding has not been retaken - a possible locale for some BT relic hunter ork revenge.

You may also just have yellow paint!

The only imperial fist company I know of that is totally wiped out is the 3rd on Hydra Cordatus in the novel Storm of Iron.

Probably just about all of them seeing as they were on Terra.

The Squad Eurus in the the short story But Dust in the Wind by Jonathan Green was completely wiped out by Necrons on the ice world of Ixya. Sergeant Hesperus, Brother-Pilot Teaz, and Battle-Brothers Maestus, Ngaio, Verwhere, Ahx, Ors, Jarda, Haldrich, and Khafra were all killed.

The Imperium! How mighty its aspect! How far-reaching its boundaries! As one world dies ten more are brought into the fold. Fear us, for we count the lives of planets, not men!

Can't think of any more examples. Thing is, IF, stubborn SoBs that they are, probably had that happen to them on a semi-regular basis. Just go ahead and make your own incidents (but please, not 3rd Company ... that poor company is for some reason the standard whipping boy of the chapter (Storm of Iron, plus Sentinels of Terra too, in a way).

Correct. The Shrine Guard are a full company of Fists, slaughtered by the Black Legion and a crudload of daemons. It's not stated to my memory which company, though.

The Third gets Butchered on Hydra Cordatus by the Iron Warriors.
The Second (The Sentinals Of Terra) gets massacred (or at least nearly massacred) and reconstituted on a couple of occasions - see their respective supplement.

[EDIT]
My apologies. The Shrine Guard are (were) the 5th. Makes sense - a permenant garrison force wouldn't be one of the Battle Companies.

Other Fist Chapters who've suffered serious murderisings:

The Crimson Fists - obviously, most of the chapter got butchered in the Fall of Rynn's World. Way back in 1st edition, there were only 15 survivors.....I think there's been retconned that that was all the survivors Kantor had immediately with him, and that he reconstituted an overstrength company out of the survivors, but that's still 7-8 companies of marines wiped out.

The Excoriators - the Excoriators are a Fists Successor Chapter (off-white, with red fist device sometimes clutching thunderbolts). Their 5th company was wiped out by a massive Daemonkin force on the cemetary world of Certus-Minor, leaving only their captain left alive (after a last-moment intervention by the Legion Of The Damned).

The Executioners - don't use a 'fist' device, sadly, but a big force was involved in the Badab War on Huron's side. At one point, a sub-company sized force of them and a similar sized force of Carcharodons mutually exterminated one another in a battle over a smuggler's base. Both sides had warriors fighting on by sheer force of will and rage despite lethal wounds, and no-one will ever know who was the last one standing. The wreckage of the battlefield was found by a navy patrol some time after -there were no survivors from either side.
