I currently use my Sorcerors as dedicated psychic support with no killing power at all. I usually take Power Armour, Force Weapon and Bolt Pistol, Mark of Slaanesh and ML3.

But what if I made them more offensive, but then in Terminator armour and made them Killy?

Suggestions, thoughts, or comments are greatly appreciated.

Power Armor, because that way you can take a Bike. Avoiding ID is a lot better than a better save.

Depends on who you run him with. The default option is Bike as bikes are op since 6-th. However, if you want him to deepstrike or roll alongside jumptroops, can take a jumppack. It might also be an option when you run him with Spawns so that they don't loose fleet on the charge and sorc's got to stay further away from challenges anywayz. But generally speaking, bike's on par or even better in this case too as it allows you to go: "no thx" and roll 24" away. Terminator armor is not all that bad when you want to run your sorc with something like obliterators.

I've always done bike and pa.

Could always run Crimson Slaughter and give him the artificer armour if you really wanted the best of both.

Out of interest, what about a Jump Pack or Disk of Tzeench?

I'm considering a CS terminator sorcerer, slaughterers horns, chainfist and combat familiar to ride in a dreadclaw as a technomancer. Should hit pretty Damn hard. Maybe the balestar as well.

If going for CS just use the daemon heart with sigil, 2+4++

And how do you propose you get there without a bike?
That's why Power Armor wins. You get access to more mobility.

Why have a chain fist when you can roll 3 times on biomancy?

It's why unmarked sorcerers on bikes are the best, you basically get mark of nurgle without the restrictions.

This!!! And with Iron Arm your +2 strength force staff gets another +3 strength and AP2 and you are now toughness 8 on your bike

I like the crimson slaughter nurgle paladin with a token unit of possessed and the slaves to the voices. You get 4 wounds IWND and t5 with the possibility of getting beast and always fleet

Objectively, the bike is best. Mobility is key because whether you want your sorceror to stab people or to use short-ranged psychic powers, moving fast is a good thing.

Terminator armour is good if you have terminators to support. A terminator-heavy chaos army could do well with supporting sorcerors.

If you want a tzeenchian sorceror (though why you would is a good question...) then terminator plate (with its included invulnerable save) is obviously a good buy.

You might be fishing for a s8 ap1 beam. It's quite potent. 3++ helps too.

If Tzeentch is a must on your sorcerer the disc is worth it over bike.

The Disc is a much better option than the jump pack as you get both +1 attack and +1 toughness (thanks to it being a jetbike). And the +1 attack easily makes it a superior option to the bike... Unless you REALLY want that twin linked bolter.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Huh. I didn't realise discs gave +1a. That's pretty nifty.

And, quite honestly, who really WANTS a TL Bolter?

Take that back! Combi bolters are what separate us from the loyalist.

You are playing 10 points for that additional attack, on a model that doesn't really want to be in combat, unless you are going biomancy crazy. (Warp speed and iron arm!)

10 points for the +1A and Jetbike status.

Doesn't jetbike grant you +1 T as well?

It does indeed, he was referring to the +1 attack that you get over a regular bike.

Which you used to get, back when having spikes actually meant something .....

They need mobility more than they need a 2+ save. I'd also argue that unmarked > marked sorcerers but if you have a thing for Slaanesh then so be it.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.
